A first for Bengaluru : Centre of Excellence for Green Skills & Applied AI for Climate Action.

This month of February 2026, something important happened in Bengaluru.

In collaboration with @Microsoft , @meitystartuphub, and the @governmentofkar, 1M1B Foundation launched the first Green Skills & Applied AI for Climate Action Centre of Excellence, a space where climate ambition meets real capability.

More than a launch, this is about making learning more practical where students don’t just study climate solutions, but actually build and test them.

The Centre is designed with a simple goal:
Equip young people to work on real AI integrated climate challenges, using real data, and build solutions that can actually be deployed.

Bengaluru is the first of five such centres in the country, with a vision to engage 100,000 youth by 2030 and create pathways into green jobs, internships, and innovation. For the students walking in, this is where things begin with many already stepping in.

What makes this meaningful is the alignment with government, industry, and civil society working together to make this real.

Bengaluru’s skilling ecosystem just got a little more future-ready.

Green Skills and Applied AI for Climate Action ಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಪಟ್ಟ Centre of Excellence ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಇಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಸಿಲ್ವರ್ ಜುಬಿಲಿ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೈಕ್ರೋಸಾಫ್ಟ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಒನ್ ಎಂ ಒನ್ ಬಿ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ಸಹಯೋಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಈ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲು ನಿರ್ಣಯವಾದ ಕೇವಲ 10 ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿದೆ
ಈ ಕೇಂದ್ರವು ಪರಿಸರ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆ, ಹಸಿರು ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ, ನವೀಕರಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಶಕ್ತಿ, ತ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಹವಾಮಾನ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಥ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನೀಡುವ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯುವಜನರಿಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ತರಬೇತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.
ಕೃತಕ ಬುದ್ಧಿಮತ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಹವಾಮಾನ ಕ್ರಮಾಚರಣೆಗೆ ಬಳಸುವ ಮೂಲಕ, ಸ್ಥಿರ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಗುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಾಧಿಸಲು ಈ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಮಹತ್ವದ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಾಗಲಿದೆ.
ಹಸಿರು ಕೌಶಲ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯುತ, ನವೀನತೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಮತ್ತು ಭವಿಷ್ಯಮುಖಿ ಯುವಶಕ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ರೂಪಿಸುವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಪ್ರೇರಣಾದಾಯಕ ಆರಂಭ.

The Centre of Excellence for Green Skills and Applied AI for Climate Action was inaugurated at the Government Sri Krishnarajendra Silver Jubilee Technical Institute in collaboration with Microsoft and 1M1B foundation.
It is a matter of pride that the centre was inaugurated within just 10 days of the decision being made to establish it.
This centre will provide advanced training and research opportunities for youth in the fields of environmental protection, green technologies, renewable energy, waste management, and effective responses to climate change.
By leveraging Artificial Intelligence for climate action, the centre will serve as a significant step towards achieving sustainable development goals.
This marks an inspiring beginning in shaping responsible, innovative, and future-ready youth equipped with green skills.
