@appiecule Completely agree and its great that the referee has assistance because great 'simulations' are almost impossible for a ref to see in real time, and removing this cheating from the game should be a number one priority.

@FabrizioRomano Embolo got what he deserved. Nothing to argue here. Everyone wants diving and rolling around the floor removed from football. These guys are examples to aspiring kids all over the world. Embolo tried to cheat a free kick and got what he deserved while on a yellow. His fault.

Why does it feel wrong? Driving cheating out of the game is a good thing. He got caught and deserved a yellow for it. Forget the fact he was on a yellow. Forget the FIFA want Argentina to win for Messi narrative. Just facts. Good call and right action. Blame the playe for trying to cheat, not the refs or FIFA

@MaverickMapper @stephenfhayes I don't think there is an easy answer to that question. They are trying to deter players from cheating (diving) by penalising with yellow cards. The irony is that this Swiss player got exactly what he deserved and why the rule was created in the first place. Only himself to blame

Agree but also his rationale for taking off Rice in the first place makes no sense. He decided it at 1-0 down (different circumstance) but they go in at halftime 1-1. He says he decided to stick with his idea to show attacking conviction. So takes of Rice plays Eze out of position and drops his top goal scorer back into CM? Bizarre

@JacobsBen We have to stop simulation (diving) at all costs. It's ruining the game and footballs reputation. If that means that by diving you are likely to get a yellow card then that's a good thing in my view.

@FabrizioRomano Not sure what game he was watching, his guy dived without anyone touching him and left the ref with no option but to give him the yellow card. He should be pissed at his player as going to 10 men made it near impossible for them
