Im not sure we are watching the same game. How has he started that 11? Dalot left back, yoro right back, bruno left wing, amad right wing?? What?? The man doesnt know the best positions of his players. It was cringe from the time he named his team. Im done, Carrick out, this man has no identity or clue on his best team.

Yep, this is becoming glaringly obvious. Its becoming painful to watch. His front three against Leeds was Bruno, Mbeumo and Amad. Cunha, Zirkzee and Rashford all sat on the bench. Bruno has been woeful all year but Carrick insists on playing him (maybe it was a clause in the contract extension). Amad, no way he ahould start, didnt justify it but played whole game. How did Cunha not start in that match. The backline had Dalot starting at left back, Yoro at right back and Licha/Harry CB's? What? You got mazroaui on the bench? 80 mins came and went and when Carrick finally went to our bench it was Cunha for Tielemens (not woeful bruno or amad)? Honestly gob smacked and completely lost faith in this man.

@appiecule Completely agree and its great that the referee has assistance because great 'simulations' are almost impossible for a ref to see in real time, and removing this cheating from the game should be a number one priority.

@FabrizioRomano Embolo got what he deserved. Nothing to argue here. Everyone wants diving and rolling around the floor removed from football. These guys are examples to aspiring kids all over the world. Embolo tried to cheat a free kick and got what he deserved while on a yellow. His fault.

Why does it feel wrong? Driving cheating out of the game is a good thing. He got caught and deserved a yellow for it. Forget the fact he was on a yellow. Forget the FIFA want Argentina to win for Messi narrative. Just facts. Good call and right action. Blame the playe for trying to cheat, not the refs or FIFA

@MaverickMapper @stephenfhayes I don't think there is an easy answer to that question. They are trying to deter players from cheating (diving) by penalising with yellow cards. The irony is that this Swiss player got exactly what he deserved and why the rule was created in the first place. Only himself to blame

Agree but also his rationale for taking off Rice in the first place makes no sense. He decided it at 1-0 down (different circumstance) but they go in at halftime 1-1. He says he decided to stick with his idea to show attacking conviction. So takes of Rice plays Eze out of position and drops his top goal scorer back into CM? Bizarre

@JacobsBen We have to stop simulation (diving) at all costs. It's ruining the game and footballs reputation. If that means that by diving you are likely to get a yellow card then that's a good thing in my view.
