That’s the part people keep skipping. The Obama-era project cost about $34 million and was supposed to address leaks, sinking, circulation, and filtration. Yet here we are 14 years later, still talking about leaks, algae, filtration, and resurfacing. It accomplished some things, but framing it as a long-term success is overstated. If a $34 million repair needs major work again this soon, it’s fair to question how cost-effective it really was.
