Eggs are the avian equivalent of menstruation for mammals. In the wild chickens laid about 12 eggs a year. Similar to a woman’s monthly cycle. Humans selectively bred chickens to lay over 300 eggs a year. This is very taxing on them. That doesn’t sound particularly ethical to me.
