⚡️Regime joint forces abandon East and West Belessa (📍Central Gonder Zone, Amhara Region, Ethiopia) as Fano launches coordinated offensives and takes operational control of both woredas.

🔵 On September 24th, Fano units under the Begemidir, General Fanta Belay, Etege Taytu, Nisir-Belessa, and Mebreq Divisions (AFNM-BC) launched coordinated offensives against regime joint forces across East Dembiya, East Belessa, West Belessa, and surrounding areas.

🔵 In East Dembiya Woreda, Fano launched a morning offensive against a regime military encampment at Jangua Kebele, reportedly inflicting heavy personnel and materiel losses on the garrison. Concurrently, Fano attacked regime positions in Guhala Town, East Belessa, forcing troops to withdraw toward Arbaya Town in West Belessa.

🔵 Fano forces pursued the retreating units toward Gonder City, ambushing a military transport convoy at Qalay-Medhanealem Kebele, where a heavy military truck was destroyed and substantial casualties were reported. A subsequent attack on regime positions in Degoma Town reportedly inflicted further losses.

🔵 Following the offensives, regime troops, militia, police, and civil administrators reportedly abandoned both East Belessa and West Belessa Woredas and withdrew to Maksegnit Town. Fano subsequently established operational control over both woredas, according to reports from the area.

STOP. THAT. NARRATIVE.

THIS IS NOT TPLF VS. ABIY.

The reality being described by many people is much broader: the whole of Ethiopia is against Abiy Ahmed’s “Oromuma Prosperity Gospel” regime.

Ethiopia is not a f🤬ing political chessboard where millions of dead, displaced, traumatized, and suffering people can be reduced to two names and a convenient headline.

PEOPLE ARE DYING.

While civilians are buried, families are destroyed, and communities are suffering, the international diplomatic and media establishment in Addis Ababa carries on with its comfortable, privileged existence parties, luxury, access, influence and business as usual.

And then they have the fucking nerve to tell the world that Ethiopia’s reality can be understood through one recycled political storyline.

NO.

What is happening in Addis Ababa concerning establishments connected to the Oromuma political circles and involving people associated with international institutions. Investigate them. Verify them. Report them. Don’t bury uncomfortable stories because they disrupt the image of a polished diplomatic capital city.

And stop pretending that questioning this narrative means ignoring abuses by anyone else. Every civilian life matters. Every atrocity deserves scrutiny. Every perpetrator should be accountable.

The media has a responsibility to tell the truth NOT to manufacture a neat narrative that makes Ethiopia easier for outsiders to digest.
