@HenryBushnell We are thin on midfielders like him, so if Adams goes down...woof. I never root for an injury to another player, but would like to somehow bring in Tessman or similar for insurance.
@michaelmiraflor@WestsideLAGuy I think the cost of attendance is the thing. For an ivy or similar, you should go no matter what. But if you get into school #30 at $80,000 per year versus school #40 which offers you a big aid package, then the decision may be different.
@greiser This post would be more impactful if you stated options - first being not to let that happen, but then what happens if the birthday passes? For example, they could have the 21 year old gift back money tax free and establish a trust. There are options...
@conorsen Ongoing, non-status based, shared experience matters. Orange Theory for competitive gym-goers, parents you befriend when your kids are friends, weekend padel group, or neighbors who run their dogs each morning. Unlike a country club, where it is less trust and more signal.
@conorsen Shared mutual interest is the underlying. Then next step is pride of commitment. Think sports and hobbies. Supporter groups in soccer, run clubs, can be even more potent if paid entry since people want value for their investment and see network as return.
@kwharrison13 Can you expand on this, genuinely curious as very much a state college kid, what was the difference or what game were they playing? Social acceptance, or maybe set the bar so low they can step over it? Thanks.
@ByDougMcIntyre Doug, given his current coaching resume, I would actually be surprised. Obviously things can change in the next 5-6 years, but if it were today, seems like a stretch.
@moseskagan The intent is lovely but unfortunately can be interpreted in too many ways and may not be read. Though I would have been thrilled to receive a check and the LOTR trilogy and less concern about optics.
@jayparsons Good post, and just to add, if your Mag 7 stocks are performing as they have been, it might add to the case for renting and keeping your money invested rather than in an inflated housing market.
@inglouriouscap Would love to read your thoughts on one vs another for a young person and life in general if you have ever shared them. If not, you should! Thanks!
@MenInBlazers@MichelobULTRA I do not mind scheduling certain matches for European viewers, just make sure the North American teams like USMNT, Canada and Mexico play in primetime in the States or their respective countries. Problem solved.
@RumorsandRants Amazing how people go after the manager or players but have nothing to say about US Soccer leadership. That is the root of the problem.
@RobUsry If you arenโt going to have most of your starters, this month helped firm up some depth. The unfortunate part is not having this done a year ago. Canโt blame the manager for that, the delay is on USSF leadership.
@RobUsry Thank you for a level-headed post. At most four legit starters and a drop off after that. No speed on the wings and no linkup or attack from the midfielders. This month was for firming up Richards as a starter and seeing some depth players and a possible GK.
