@collieennis Definitely idoteidae, clear tail raising defensive behaviour. Too blury to be definate of which, tridentate telson maybe? Could be baltica or metalica. There are other genera that can wash up If you do get clearer pics or a specimen do let me know.
Back in 2023, I taught a full course on "Plenty of Phish in the Sea: Collecting and Investigating Email and Text Message Threats" in Japan.
I've now made the full course available to the public, and the slides can be accessed here: https://t.co/L68UMKTKKj
This course provides a detailed overview of how to collect and investigate email and text message threats, including malware analysis, with a focus on threats targeting Asia and Japan.
I hope more people can learn how to defend themselves and others through this course.
I taught this for free in Japan, only to be taken for granted, disrespected, and denied credit. So please do not do that—thank you.
All I ask is that you appreciate the effort I put into making knowledge accessible to everyone by building on my work, properly cite me, and help those in need.
@DrAlexFord Depends what you mean by 'disinformation', Journal of Global security studies, Security studies, and intelligence and counterintelligence all have OA options
@PorcupineMNHS 6 plates, wide rostrum, not a common invasive, strong radial lines on scutum. Either Balanus balanus or Balanus crenatus. Id lean crenatus as no strong ribs on wall plates, slight pink staining and tergum not particularly beaked (just collapsed out of water)
