Cleveland Police have just released a tribute from the family of PC Tom Clough, who tragically lost his life in Saturday morning's collision on the A66.
And we think that their words tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the man he was.
"He was our hero with a fantastic sense of humour. Jumped into action whenever needed, and willing to help anyone for any reason. Proudly fought for his country to make the world a better place. Always on public duty throughout his short life."
Tom had already served his country before going on to serve his community as a police officer. Different uniform, same instinct,: helping people, stepping forward when he was needed and spending his life in the service of others.
His family and partner have also thanked friends, colleagues and the wider community for the overwhelming support and condolences they have received.
There isn't anything we can possibly add to the words of those who knew and loved him.
A man they called their hero, a man with a fantastic sense of humour, and a man who would help anyone, for any reason.
PC Tom Clough should have had many more years ahead of him.
Our thoughts remain first and foremost with Tom's partner and family, but also with his friends, his colleagues at Cleveland Police, his former military colleagues and everyone whose life was touched by him.
Thank you for your service, Tom. Both of them. ๐
We will bring you more as it is released through official channels.

When people whinge about #ShamimaBegum rights it makes my piss boil
They care more about the enemies of our country both born here and outside than men like him

A joke from Moscow: "According to Putin the special military operation is really a conflict btw Russia and NATO about World dominance. Whats the situation now?" "Russia has lost 15000 troops, 6 generals, 500 tanks, 3 ships, 100 planes and 1000 trucks. NATO hasn't arrived yet."
