@LiamEdits98505@holly_faur Lol I don't know how you found a 9 year old tweet but its available free online. Check out Basic Cable on Tapas https://t.co/mzTQbkeZgm
@j_a_dill@pope_predictor @teaghan_g @TDub769@NetteyTweets Betting on these things is a fool's errand, but if you made me put money on someone, I'd probably go Turkson. Right age, right region, we'll known, and curial experience will win over some people who'd be skeptical of other Africans
@j_a_dill@pope_predictor @teaghan_g @TDub769@NetteyTweets My theory is permanent shift to candidates in mid-70s based on life expectancy with regional rotation coming into play. Other than that, I agree that name recognition counts for a lot. So, my profile is a well known person, Francis-like, 75-80, from Africa or Asia.
@pope_predictor@j_a_dill @teaghan_g @TDub769@NetteyTweets I did an undergraduate thesis on conclave back in the dark ages (2008) and my method discounted Italians out of hand. I think that probably still holds, and I would be extremely surprised if the next pope comes from Europe at all.
@BriannaWu@Israel One voice that really interests me is Mansour Abbas, who was the first head of an Arab party to join a government coalition and try to work within the system. Not someone I agree with a lot but definitely a voice that gets drowned out.
So I had an apolitical thought on @JohnFetterman's clothing: If you have to wear a suit, be yourself. Suggestions:
-Black Dress Shirt (on brand)
- Bolo Tie (appropriate with open collar)
- Loose-fitting tweed or leather sportcoat (comfy).

@NuclearAnthro Like, there's legit sources claiming they make assumptions based on what psychics tell them foreign leaders are thinking, so if that's still an operating principle, they could legit believe a lot of very crazy stuff about US or Ukrainian motives. https://t.co/Me88Z0Orzp
@NuclearAnthro People always assume that regimes don't believe their own propaganda when the reverse is usually true. It seems like there are high level people there who believe some truly wild stuff from wild sources.
@NuclearAnthro I think that's where the "Satanism" accusation is coming from to. Either someone swallowed QAnon whole or someone consulted a mystic or something.
@vcdgf555 @CovertShores In fairness most people only know cruisers and destroyers from Battleship - a game that could be made MUCH harder with a one-square USV
@BabakTaghvaee1 Wow. I'm no expert but my gut says the regime has a swiftly closing window before which they lose the ability to stop this even if they wanted to.
@BabakTaghvaee Do we have any information about how many protesters are out in Tehran or what the regime is trying to do? It's hard to judge the overall situation in the capital vs. regions from videos I've seen.
@ThreshedThought @jscotland1990s My question would be the opposite which is are there regional leaders (other than Kadyrov, don) Who have enough power to actually break off fiefdoms? I've been skeptical of the idea of a Russian breakup because the power would be concentrated either in Moscow or the military.
@spooloflies I'm gonna have to go with Grey's Anatomy killing off Lexie Grey. I literally based the protag in my own fiction partially off Lexie, and that character deserves a better exit.
