Enjoy!
Today we’ve taken the necessary steps to help enable our teams across DICE with the option of working remotely, in order to best protect their health and wellbeing in response to the COVID-19 Outbreak.
@IonSwitz @PatrickMcMorris @richgel999 Hopefully the next console generation will cause some well needed disruption and lead to faster load times and smaller downloads.
@IonSwitz @PatrickMcMorris @richgel999 I think a lot of the constraints on patching are based on legacy requirements where the patch data needed to be kept seperate from the data on the optical disc. Many older engines probably hasnt rewritten their patching if it wasnt required.
Hustle by day. Risk it all by night. This is NFS Heat 🔥

@NYCSpiderCop @TheTorete_CF @Michaelramos227 @Guncastlebrown Listening doesn’t mean we always will do what people tell us to. We hear you. Hearing doesn’t mean we always act or follow.
@johnspjuth@IonSwitz@SquirrelTweets As an engineer I use data-driven for code that derives "behavior" from data. I.e. you can make burgers or hot-dogs from the same code by changing the data. Not data-driven is just having condiment tick boxes on your hard coded burger and hot-dog objects.
Rules of optimization:
1) Design for performance from day 1
2) Profile often
3) Be vigilant on performance regressions
4) Understand the data
5) Understand the HW
6) Help the compiler
7) Verify your assumptions
8) Performance is everyone's responsibility
