I feel like we're reaching point where the whole house of cards we call the modern web is going to come crashing down. Every bank, government agency, doctor, hospital, e-commerce site, and so on have to have their own bespoke, special messaging system for "security and privacy reasons." To get to their messaging system, you've got to log in, usually with SMS-based MFA. Then use their poorly designed messaging system.
The overhead of even simple tasks is getting larger and larger. I question the security of almost all these supposedly "secure" messaging system. And I'm tired of the "Utopia of Rules" mindset that every organization has and what they expect customers to do to adapt to their needs.

how does a non technical person start contributing to open-source repos?
