@DavidHarns The overriding question among not just Finley but continued negativity toward MSU is - Why?
Yes, the Nassar situation was horrid. Yes there have been numerous administrative bungles over the years.
But so has it been at UoM, and other Colleges and Universities in Michigan.
@PeteThamel College “Scout”? So OSU can mine the portal more effectively?
Let’s just call College Football Jr. Professional Football because that’s exactly what it is. In fact maybe we just install relegation and have crappy NFL teams play College schedules and great Colleges go to NFL.
@blaulb@DarkoStateNews 2/2 Secondly he resigned because the University not only never pointed out facts, they didn’t defend the truth. He resigned because he felt undermined and unsupported. Not because he failed.
Those are FACTS, not the twisted prose of Paula Levine or anyone else.
@blaulb@DarkoStateNews Let’s get the record straight. Hollis was NOT MIA on Nassar. The truth is he had zero control or direct supervision over Nassar who reported to the Medical School not Athletic Department. Despite that, Hollis was unfairly dragged through mud 1/2
@SpartanAvenueFS Conner, we are in a far different era of college athletics. I live in LA and no one here believes Martin Jarmond is any good. WMU hasn’t has to contend with the challenges at the highest levels of the industry. The current COO msy be an option.
@pivot_tables Really? James Madison has for years had a roster of non “star” players and been highly competitive despite several coaching staff changes.
Spartans, the drama with the Board and the fallout sucks. Apparently there’s even more bad news on the horizon according to someone in the know. (This isn’t rumor mill but sourced.)
@Graham_Couch@chrissolari@JKnick30
@DickieV Stay with it Dick! I too continue with treatment for a different form of Cancer. You inspire others through transparency, attitude, and compassion. My mantra in this battle is simple: #broadshoulders. No burden is ever too large when supported by the broadshoulders of others.
@msucontent@sloche_o One can look at all those other incredible athletes dunking and think wow! Then you see Flight 55 and it’s just at a ridiculous next level. That kid deserves an incredible upcoming season as his total game continues to grow.
@C_Robinson247 I congratulate the young man and will always support all Spartans. That said, there sure seems to be a disproportionate amount of publicity attached to a PWO who was going to Calvin. Why?
@LBSUMBB In the era of NIL and the portal, it’s difficult to obtain talent - particularly for mid Majors. It just seems like LBSU could be in a much better place nationally despite those challenges.
@On3@AndyStaples@Clowfb I appreciate Pete Golding’s media training. I guarantee his arrival at Ole Miss wasn’t with a permanent place in mind. But the spin is beautifully stated to placate the fan base.
@colecfrench I’m not arguing at all. Just ‘splaining. And you can “ok Boomer” me all you want.
Hopefully the perspective (although seemingly mean spirited) will ultimately help you as I presume you want to build a following and career in new media/sports
In the end at best, recruits can only pledge - not sign and commitments are worthless without signature.
Come December, everything changes. So why buy into the hype or subscriptions?
It’s amazing to me all the social/blog sphere rhetoric about football official visits. Recruiting has become a giant media game. Sites hype to sell subscriptions during what’s a dead period. Recruits love the attention (even at times pay for it). 1/2
