वेदव्यास, जिनका जन्म महर्षि पराशर और सत्यवती के पुत्र कृष्ण द्वैपायन के रूप में हुआ, सनातन परंपरा में भगवान विष्णु के अंशावतार माने जाते हैं।

उन्होंने युगों से चली आ रही वैदिक ज्ञान परंपरा को व्यवस्थित कर चार वेदों—��ग्वेद, यजुर्वेद, सामवेद और अथर्ववेद—का संकलन किया। वे महाभारत के रचयिता माने जाते हैं, जिसे भगवान श्रीगणेश ने उनके कथनानुसार लिपिबद्ध किया। इसी महाग्रंथ में मानवता का अमूल्य आध्यात्मिक संदेश श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता समाहित है।

महर्षि वेदव्यास को 18 महापुराणों तथा ब्रह्मसूत्र के रचयिता के रूप में भी सम्मान दिया जाता है, जो वेदांत दर्शन का आधार हैं।

इसी कारण उन्हें आदि गुरु कहा जाता है—वह महा�� आचार्य जिन्होंने दिव्य ज्ञान को केवल ऋषियों तक सीमित न रखकर समस्त मानवता के लिए सुलभ बनाया।

आषाढ़ मास की पूर्णिमा, जिसे गुरु पूर्णिमा या व्यास पूर्णिमा कहा जाता है, उनके प्रति श्रद्धा, कृतज्ञता और समस्त गुरु-परंपरा के सम्मान का पावन पर्व है।

Born Krishna Dvaipayana to Sage Parashara & Satyavati, Ved Vyasa is revered as an Amsa Avatar of Vishnu. He organized the oral Vedic knowledge into 4 Vedas (Rig, Yajur, Sama, Atharva), composed the Mahabharata (with Ganesha Bhagwaan as scribe) including the Bhagavad Gita, wrote the 18 Mahapuranas & Brahma Sutras — the foundation of Vedanta.

Revered as the Adi Guru, the original teacher who made sacred wisdom accessible to all. His legacy is celebrated on Guru Purnima, the full moon of Ashadha (June–July).
