I must admit, the two mainstream archetypes for womanhood - “feminine and hollow” vs. “masculine girlboss” - are both so uninspiring. Your female ancestors labored & sacrificed & bled; they helped to tame the wilderness into civilization for you; were they all unfeminine?
I’d love to see the revival of feminine archetypes that enable a depth of living. The vision of femininity as a shallow, entirely soft, consumption-driven existence is just a polar inversion of feminism, affirming the idea that to live seriously and do anything interesting with your time requires you to become masculine
You have to think critically when you read this crap. What did Sylvia expect to do between the time when her husband left and he returned?? Idk what she did but I read Homer and make drawings and play with my adorable children. I think these women think they’re “too smart” for motherhood and being a SAHM when really in fact they’re too dumb and boring for it. They think they’d be more stimulated at an email job doing SOPs for projects that are mind numbingly boring? Please. Feminism is nothing more than the most privileged women on earth complaining about it.
Children are a mirror. Genetically and behaviorally- a mirror. People who lament the behavior of their children- or even more disgustingly, their very existence at all- are telling on themselves.
If youre under 25 you won't believe this, but they used to make movies like Rocky that are just good and inspiring and not secretly subversive in some way
reality is such nightmare fuel that if you try to talk about current events with someone who is blissfully uninformed it is quite literally impossible not to sound delusional, conspiracy-pilled and wildly schizophrenic.
