"He is like the Tom Stewart we all know in regards to the impact he is having out on the training track." - Cats GM football, Simon Lloyd.
No surprise given he has been training solidly since October, but Stewart will play his first game since Round 21 last year on Saturday.
Western Bulldogs development coach Travis Varcoe does not know why more of the game’s Indigenous greats are not taking the step into coaching after their careers are done and wants to see more Indigenous people in AFL coaching ranks.

OPINION: It is impossible not to admire Geelong's determination to fight the AFL system for the past two decades, but off the back of what we have seen in the past six weeks, it should not be topping up again at the expense of going to the draft.

This was fun. Caught up with all four of @GeelongCats living previous games record holders, who have given their thoughts on @joelselwood14 and his achievement of breaking the club games record. #GeelongStrong#AFLFinals

Geelong is of the understanding it will fly to Perth after its qualifying final this week, regardless of the result. The Cats do not expect to return to Victoria until their finals campaign is over.

“It was absolutely never in doubt, as long as I was offered a contract it was always going to be signed from my end."
Great news for Geelong with Gryan Miers signing a new two-year deal.
The @Gdflvic president Nev Whitley says football will return this week without crowds. Bars, canteens etc. won't be open. Says the onus is on clubs to ensure restrictions are adhered to. Has asked those going for a walk around oval to be mindful not to gather in groups.
Was stoked for Quinton Narkle yesterday. Has put in plenty of hard work after an indifferent pre-season and got some reward against Gold Coast @GeelongCats#AFL

Gryan Miers has a small hairline fracture of his fibula and will spend some time on the sidelines as a result. In better news for Geelong, Shaun Higgins is set to return to the playing field this week, while Jake Kolodjashnij is moving freely and progressing through his rehab
Spoke with Harry Taylor earlier today. He and his family avoided the cyclones that have ravaged parts of Western Australia. His football club in Northampton wasn’t as lucky, with goalposts blown down and parts of the grandstand turned upside down. Thinking of everyone affected.
Geelong coach Chris Scott says his preference is for his players to tackle instead of bump if the former option is there, as star midfielder Patrick Dangerfield prepares to face the AFL tribunal tonight
