To pray for the growth of God's word in certain denominations isn't answered by having platforms to preach there .
We aren't praying to have platforms to minister.
No.
We are praying for the word to grow ..
Gods way not our way.

Many of us need to not allow our desire to be known as equal to the growth of the word.

We are not the Word.

Neither are we desiring for churches to break up so we have the numbers .

That's self centered.

Hence we aren't to be found preaching against certain churches ,because we haven't had access to them .

The little I know of God ,

You dont choose for Him how He wants to sort things out else you be like the Jews who though expecting the Messiah,got in the way and didn't know who he was .

Just pray for the word to grow

And watch it grow .

When I was much younger in the faith, about 23 years ago I was privileged to have gone through an experience I considered grievous but through which I learned one of the most important lessons in Christianity and life i.e. 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

I was part of a move of God and through a difference in opinion; I decided to opt out of leadership. 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝/𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞, 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐟 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲��𝐮. Sometimes it might take years to get you back into position.

I learned to 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗿��𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲. I understood never to develop an entitlement mentality in the things of God because He can do it without you. He is the reason for its being and not you. In the worst case, He can enact a law of substitution and replace you.

Never again would I allow a disgruntled person or group to talk me out of a collective movement of the Spirit nor cause me to terminate a divine relationship. 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲; 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗽𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝘇𝘇𝗹𝗲.

Now the above statements were comments by total strangers on my wall on posts made .

Now ,who goes on the media to comment so arrogantly and presumptively ?
Children!

I checked the profile of some of these social media analysts

It’s unlikely those who witnessed the gospel to them were saved when we had read and even taught in a bible school much of Calvin’s works( some almost 28/29 years ago ).

With the privilege to teach in bible schools etc such exposure had always been on our path .

No, it’s assumed social media is a leveler especially with Those who tout a “Damascus experience doctrinally” and now must pull down the houses they were harbored under before with the guise of fighting for the faith .

Funny .

Some fellow wrote me a Rehash of word of Faith criticism which he had googled , I laughed , when I first read this ,there was no google or yahoo 😊.

We used photocopied amplified Bible since it wasn’t common like many translations usually maybe one fellow had it in a whole state !

Should I recall how we would go and camp at “ a day shall come library “ to be able to access materials and stay there all day the whole week !!!

Or traveling hours to buy tapes !

Should I speak of how we took turns to read photocopied theological works .

Wait for Rev Mathew asimolowo to arrive with new books at Atobajaiye street isolo in the mid 90s

We didn’t get our commitment to word on YouTube or some no cheap access .

We sold ,suffered, worked under hard and harsh conditions to study and the spirit is still on .

Under my boss Rev akilapa we travelled across countries in the dead of the night and peril of danger to preach the same things we studied under hardship

We weren’t using Facebook or twitter etc

Rather ,Hit the streets ,traveling into villages and hamlets to teach same truths

Now to turn to us and think we are into a rave and excitement as you throw up your new found phrases of doctrinal lolly pop !

No sir !

We swore our lives for this

DON'T RUSH ! MUCH LIES IN LISTENING WELL !

Here I was listening to one of my favorite tracks

A man I had been listening to for at least the past 23 years

A teaching I had read the book (maybe 20-30 times )and preached from

I was paying much attention to a particular explanation and it took me to rewind the part 15( fifteen) times to understand a less than 5 minutes explanation!

This happened again last night, listening to another

But fewer rewinds ( just 10!)

Now I can see what some folks go through listening to some of us

Lesson learnt ?

As you grow more ,you pay attention more to details

A GOOD TEACHER ALWAYS EMERGES FROM A GOOD STUDENT

My advise to the upcoming?

Don't be quick to teach or be called a teacher

GIVE YOUR EARLY YEARS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF LEARNING WELL

When well established men in bible doctrine teach ,don't try and assume

Listen again and again

Much lies and in patience

Don't listen to criticize or argue or prove another wrong

You will end up a fool

Bible teaching is also spiritual

Don't think it's compiling Greek words and scriptures

Much lies in listening well

I can tell you authoritatively

You have a great day ahead

I really hope I am able to articulate these thoughts appropriately...

I read a post one or two days ago where someone straight up called Charles Finney an heretic! My heart really bled reading that.
He accused him of Pelagianism and that he was a major proponent of altar calls.

Recently I read Papa Hagin mention how that 80/85% of Finney's convert into Christianity have gone on to be committed Christians. A percentage so far surpassed by none other of his age. D.L. Moody was said to have had just 50% of his converts known to have stayed committed.

In Finney's days, whole streets and villages were recorded to have turned to the Lord. Pubs shut down after Finney passed through.

Imagine labeling such a man heretic openly simply because of an aspect of doctrine you believe to have been wrong.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MANY DANGERS OF THE CURRENT TRENDING OF 'ISMS' GOING ON, ON TWITTER.

Someone says - Christ is the explanation of all scriptures. Quickly you say, christocentrism, therefore he teaches that you can live anyhow after all salvation is eternal (no one christocentric teacher i know teaches this though, its just a slander slant), therefore he believes this, he believes that, he is heretic.

Someone says The trinity is separate being, another says they are same person, and we immediately pitch them with one "ism", next thing, he is heretic.

The other day, one funnily said, "I don't believe hypergrace people are saved"... now now, EVERYONE who teaches the message of God's grace are all heretic, they are not saved. Aaaaahhh... Pastor?

It's saddening.

Truth is, someone might agree with Calvin on certain things he taught, but not on another issue.

We must treat all issues separately.

Let's stop using "isms" to cancel ourselves.

Stop flinging this "this man is heretic" phrase anyhow.

A funny truth is, where you are in knowledge is not where you were 7years ago.
IMAGINE IF WE HAVE ALL CALLED YOU HERETIC back then?

I know an Elder in the body of Christ today whose thoughts on salvation sounds like "God knows and has pre-selected men to salvation, yet nothing else in all he teaches and affirms looks close to the ism we associate that doctrine with.

Some of your parents subscribe to doctrines you don't subscribe to - but you know they loved and served the Lord all their lives, how about calling your parents heretic?

I hope I passed these thoughts out well sha...

When your pastor gives you a cautionary prediction, don’t form braggadocio ,ask for help ..

Luke 22:31-32 KJV
[31] And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
32] But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

You don’t hear this from a trusted voice and reply in lack of wisdom .

Luke 22:33 KJV
[33] And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.

Who was he trying to brag at ?

Whilst you mustn’t pay attention to voices untested and unproven ,however when Gods man over you gives such warning ,you seek for counsel .

All Jesus said happened ,even though preventable .

Peter had earlier shown signs of deviating and opposing him

Matthew 16:22-23 KJV
[22] Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.
[23] But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.

He acted as an adversary.

Rather than taking instructions

[24] Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Judas has similar warnings and never needed them .

Gods warnings aren’t threats ,they are oftentimes cautionary.

Why then do we move from acting like children to behaving like independents ?

Familiarity .

Dishonor .

Wrong Associations.

Strange desires .

We must keep esteeming men and women whom God placed over us and take heed to their words .

1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 KJV
[12] And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
[13] And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

Otherwise, we are unruly .

Hebrews 13:17 KJV
[17] Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

They watch over your souls, ,entire life ,including all your decisions .

Paul instructs Timothy to heed to utterances ,which oftentimes includes cautionary statements..

1 Timothy 1:18 KJV
[18] This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

So next time pastor says ,” watch your associations,...,you have been going too often to movies these days ..,it appears your appearance has changed ,you seem to dress differently these days ,....you aren’t as passionate about prayer like before ..

Don’t try to disprove him

To obey is better than quoting scriptures.

Heed !

Lord grant you understanding
