Scientists in Japan have engineered a new form of Vit K, 3 times better at turning stem cells into neurons & can cross the blood-brain barrier—potential answer to Alzheimer's, Parkinson's & Huntington's treatment. @soumya_pillai explains in #PureScience:

Harvard researchers have identified lithium depletion in the brain as a key driver of Alzheimer’s disease, opening the door to low-dose lithium treatments that may prevent or even reverse memory loss.
For decades, scientists have sought the exact mechanisms that convert brain abnormalities into the progressive cognitive decline seen in Alzheimer’s. A major new study from Harvard Medical School suggests that lithium — a naturally occurring element essential for maintaining neuronal health and protecting against aging — plays a central role.
The researchers found that as toxic amyloid plaques accumulate, they bind to and deplete the brain’s natural lithium reserves. This depletion helps explain why some individuals with significant plaque buildup never develop full dementia: their lithium levels may remain sufficient to provide ongoing neuroprotection.
To overcome this issue, the team screened lithium compounds and identified lithium orotate, a form that largely evades capture by amyloid plaques. In mouse models of Alzheimer’s, low-dose lithium orotate, administered at levels roughly 1,000 times lower than those used for psychiatric conditions, reversed key disease pathologies, reduced plaque and tau accumulation, restored synapses, and fully recovered memory function, even in older animals with advanced disease. Importantly, this treatment showed no signs of the kidney or thyroid toxicity associated with higher-dose lithium therapies.
While human clinical trials are still needed, the findings raise the possibility that routine lithium screening and early supplementation could transform how Alzheimer’s is prevented and treated.

Scientists have discovered AI data centers are even worse for the environment than we thought.
Big data centers create "heat islands" that raise local surface temperatures an average of 3.6°F, enough to potentially devastate local wildlife and water supply.

Israel has launched its largest strikes on Hezbollah since the Iran war began, the IDF says. It's after Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu said the U.S.-Iran ceasefire did not include Lebanon.

What message does attacking hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and the Pasteur Institute as a medical research center in Iran convey? As a specialist physician, I urge WHO, the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and physicians worldwide to respond to this crime against humanity
Why are MBS and Netanyahu suddenly dragging us into a regional war and why is Trump doing their bidding?? There are so many conflicts of interest here not to mention Jared Kushner killing the negotiations with Iran leading up to this quagmire and now MBS, the biggest contributor to his vulture capital fund, is leading Trump on foreign policy without addressing congress? The psychopaths are running the show guys and congress is MIA.
Kids are going hungry, and people can’t even pay the rent here. This is totally out of control. What about affordability??

Eighteen-month-old Jawad Abu Nassar from Palestine’s Gaza was tortured by Israeli soldiers in front of his father to force a confession.
After 10 hours, he was released through the International Committee of the Red Cross with burns and puncture wounds, while his father, Osama Abu Nassar, remains in Israeli detention.
Jawad is not alone. Palestinian children continue to face abuse at the hands of Israeli forces
