One question I see repeated: "will the Tonga eruption cool or warm the planet?"
Volcanic eruptions introduce particulates into the atmosphere, & enough can have an insulating, cooling effect for a few weeks, months, or sometimes years. Volcanoes are <1% of CO2 yearly emissions.
Another question: "will the Tonga eruption trigger other volcanoes to erupt?"
Answer: No, as volcanoes have their own distinct, separate magma chambers. They are not connected in ways that cause chain reactions. Right now, between 40-50 volcanoes are erupting. That's normal.
