A reminder that any student in Nigeria attempting the WASSCE, UTME or SAT exams in 2025 has no reason to perform poorly as long as they use this platform to practise and learn: https://t.co/0tbmFjDhN8.
With enough practice, good performance on the exams is guaranteed. Best of all, it is completely free to access for everyone.
If you're a school administrator and you're not using it yet, then what are you doing?
Everyone should see this

If you're part of the "It doesn't concern Nigeria/Africa" crowd who use that mechanical response to avoid thinking, because thinking is painful and difficult, you can skip this post. It's not for you.
For everyone else, the map on the left is how "Israel" proposes to redraw the map of North Africa and the Gulf/Levant with its colonial war, stealing about 11% of the territory of Egypt for the so-called "Greater Israel" plan. This happens to be the part of Egypt that contains the Suez Canal - the single most important shipping lane in the world and the single trading choke point for about 80% of the inhabited planet.
More importantly, this strip of Egypt between the Nile River and the Red Sea is where 95% of Egypt's population lives, and it is basically where everything worth living for in Egypt is located. Israel stealing this land, renaming it, and driving out its inhabitants would be like Israel stealing an entire country, running its people off their land, and renaming it (I wonder where I've heard that before).
Are you seeing the problem here?
Egypt is never going to give up such territory without a fight to the death, and a war in Egypt would have similar consequences for the northern half of Africa to the war in Libya - only about 50 times worse!
Remember how the war in Libya wasn't our business in 2011? Remember how Nigeria even voted in favour of the NATO airstrikes that destroyed Libya? Remember how it didn't matter, after all they were Arabs and they hate Black people, so why should we care what happened to them? Remember how rapidly we found out that - Arab or no Arab - when there is war and instability in a country 2 borders away from us, it absolutely IS our business? Remember how many Nigerians died and are still dying because of arms from Libya? Remember how Boko Haram went from huding and bombing buildings to holding Nigerian territory and raising flags? You remember ba?
Because the number of borders between Nigeria and Ghana is the same number of borders between Nigeria and Egypt.
Shebi e no concern us? No wam. That geopolitics? We go learn am. By the time oyibo do us finish and we finally realise wetin dey sup, we go return hin Yahweh give am, and become "African Identity Extremists." Then go call us "terrorist" and we go use our full chest collect am.
Na just time.
N700 million to buy '50 torchlights and 100 walkie-talkie for Bayelsa Community Safety Corps'
N4.6 billion to buy 20 Hilux and SUVs and another N1.2 billion for government printing machines.
All in the budget.

N218.5 million for this? Where’s the rest of the road, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu?
This is a 600-metre road project constructed for N218.5 million under the Federal Co-operative College Oji River, Enugu, and facilitated by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, @OUKtweets.
The road was supposed to be 1 km for N150 million, but we got a POORLY done 600 metres road. How is this acceptable?
Meanwhile, Tramstek LTD received N66.7m on June 15, 2023, and another N66.7m on December 11, 2023. Then Ice Target Global Ltd received N85m on December 12, 2023.
Half a road, twice the cost! Who are we kidding? #TheBudgetisaMess

Exciting Upgrade
New All-In-One Vending Platform
Dear Valued Customer,
We are thrilled to announce that Eko Disco is moving to a new All-In-One (AIO) customer experience vending platform from Friday, October 18 to Monday, October 21, 2024.
Which way, Nigeria? Let us fear God in this country, because how can you explain this?
The Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-Kowa, Gombe, proposed N368 million, but the National Assembly approved N42.7 billion.
A difference of N42 billion!!!
How are these insertions okay for a country struggling with loans and a high debt servicing ratio?
Kai, there is God o #TheBudgetisaMess.
Dear Nigerians,
#TheBudgetisaMess, how can we ensure this does not continue?
We have written to the President of the @NGRSenate, Godswill Akpabio, @Senator_Akpabio, @SPNigeria, and the Speaker of the @HouseNGR, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, @Speaker_Abbas, raising concerns about the National Assembly’s practice of inserting projects into the budget and allocating funds to agencies without the mandate to execute them.
While we wait to hear from their offices, we urge you to stay alert as the #2025Budget approaches.
It is critical that the budget reflects the true interests of Nigerians.

Nigeria now worths less than 50% of its worth in 2018. This is as a result of the danger of a single story, DEVALUATION. Devaluation of the Naira is easy but comes with high consequences. Tanzania is yet to recover from the last floating of currency.
Wake up! Devaluation means devaluing the worth of the people. Floating of our currency, as it is now practiced, does not hold much future for us. This is similar to what we did in 1986. At best we will get used to a devalued economy. It is important for us to embrace wisdom.
Note: the size of a nation’s economy in dollar terms determines the possible investment inflows and debt allowance.
I am not particularly concerned about the first or fourth position, I’m more concerned about the size of the economy and its implications.
“Often, attention is focused on the Federal Government. But the State of States offers an opportunity to shift focus and examine the financial records of state governments.
It serves as a comparative assessment of the fiscal performance and positions of each state, highlighting how they can finance their budgets through internally generated revenue and their reliance on federally allocated funds.”

Countdown to the #StateofStates2024 report launch 🚀
Nigerians, there’s no easy way to say this, #TheBudgetisaMess.
The Federal Co-operative College Ibadan submitted a proposed budget of N1.5 billion to the National Assembly. The National Assembly, @nassnigeria inserted 182 projects worth N45.36 billion and APPROVED N46.9 billion.
If we continue like this, where will it take our country?
The #2025Budget will soon be presented, and insertions like this should not happen again.

THE WHT REGULATIONS 2024 HAS BEEN GAZETTED
The Deduction of Tax at Source (Withholding) Regulations, 2024, has been published in the official gazette.
The Regulations grant rates reduction and full exemption from Withholding Tax to many businesses, including SMEs with annual turnover not exceeding N25 million. Read further details here: https://t.co/SinHEiaLUP
The commencement date of the new Regulations is 30th September 2024, while implementation begins on 1st January 2025 to allow for a minimum of 90 days notice required for tax changes in line with the 2017 National Tax Policy.
However, there is a provision permitting the FIRS, with the approval of the Finance Minister, to issue guidelines for the implementation of the Regulations and where appropriate, permit early application of the Regulations from 1st July, 2024. The essence of this provision is to enable persons who wish to adopt the Regulations early to do so given that it is generally providing reliefs to businesses rather than imposing a burden.
