Fayemi is one politician you hardly find a suitable word to describe....
Whether villain or Hero... whether Actor or Bose..... His gap tooth like that of IBB makes me see him as South West Maradona....

He came to prominence during the June 12 struggle and was a key actor in the famous radio Kudirat that tormented Abacha junta like hell...

He was among pro democracy heros who got heroic welcome back from exil..

Unlike Tinubu and co he didn't join politics immediately....When he did in early 2000s he joined Tinubu AC...

It would be safe to say he got Tinubu nod and support to get guber ticket in Ekiti in 2006.... He won but was robbed by PDP...

Osibanjo detailed how he worked with Tinubu to recover these mandates for Fayemi, Rauf and others....

Fast forward to 2023.... Fayemi challenge Tinubu to a contest.... I wasn't surprised...He was chairman of the powerful govs forum....

Oshiomole detailed how Fayemi led other govs to humiliate him out of office... He codedly work to see APC defeated in Edo despite Tinubu publicly backing Ize Iyamu....

In these rumbles ...you won't find Fayemi publicly acknowledging or rejecting these accusations...

That is what makes him more dangerous... Soft spoken but venomous..

He has a doctorate in war studies....and in war.. strategy is key.....Fayemi is deploying these strategies to good effect....Whether he finally wins depend on the adversary...

When he was contesting for President....he thought he could build on the momentum of dislodging Oshiomole..rally the govs around himself and get Buhari nod...

But when Tinubu read the riot act in the Abeokuta " Emilokan" declaration.... Its Echo shook not just those hoping to package Fayemi but the entire APC foundation..... The Tinubu...the Fayemis thought they have buried resurrected....

The APC national chairman even vow to discipline Tinubu for the " noise in Abeokuta"...

In Eagle Square.....Fayemi knew he doesn't have the numbers... he beat a retreat and endorsed Tinubu...

The War doctor knew when to fight another day.....

Tinubu may be very accommodating but he hates chameleon.... he sidelined Fayemi.... Unlike Fashola who was eager to return to law practice....Fayemi has lost appetite for lecturing..... like a lion cob train with blood....they don't eat grass...

Fayemi can only smell power now....Few months ago.... he publicly stated that he may have defeated Tinubu if he didn't step down.....He knew he was lying...but it is strategy....

He has been a vocal critic of Tinubu policy implementation.... unlike Fashola who said he would prefer to discuss privately with Tinubu than criticize him publicly...

Fayemi do the opposite.... Please the mob, heap little praise on Tinubu....He is neither here or there.....That's IBB style..

Seen with APC in the day and opposition at night...

He is an assets and liability to both the ruling party and the opposition...only those who have nothing to lose will throw caution into the wind and embrace him...

Fayemi is already preparing for 2031....Like he said in the Eagle Square when he stepped down for Tinubu..." He only postponed his ambition"

But a man like Fayemi....A doctorate in war studies....
Every sane politician should dine with him using a very long spoon....

Here is what I found;

North West is ₦205.5 billion
North East is ₦152.8 billion
North Central is ₦302.8 billion
South South is ₦880.6 billion
South East is ₦79.3 billion

South West is ₦2.16 trillion!

This is how the money actually enters the pool before it is shared.

WORST? COMPARED TO WHAT?

Branding an entire generation of supporters as "Worst" is, to me, not only overreaching but ignoble - one I did not expect a woman of your age and experience to deploy. There are extreme paths responsible elders must resist travelling, and this is one of them. There are cliffs elders must not leap from, ma, I insist, this is one of them.

This is a brand of supporters who have stayed dedicated to the vision since 1999, recruiting millions more as the seasons evolved - many of whom were not yet born when Asiwaju was governor, had not yet matured into political consciousness at that time, or simply belonged to a different political philosophy.

And "Worst" compared to whom? The Obidients? Certainly not. The Elite Buharists? Definitely not.

This same brand of supporters, in 2022/2023, walked through fire and did not become ash. They survived:

The ravenous Obidients;

Dangerous religious bigotry;

Evil machinations by elements in the Villa - the snake that bites from inside one's own barn;

The demonic twin policies of Cash and Fuel scarcity, designed to break the will of the common man;

The painful betrayal by their mentor's most trusted allies, associates and proteges - those who ate from the same plate, yet plotted at the same table;

And the back-stabbing from your kind - Elite Buharists - with whom we once locked shields to defend the honour of the late President Buhari, shortcomings and all, expecting neither reward nor thanks.

Yet this same league of loyal and principled supporters surmounted every hurdle, escaped every trap, and emerged from the battles within and without unscathed - to deliver their candidate to a well-deserved victory.

Are these the same ones you now brand "Worst"?

Perhaps the word you reached for was Resilient. For in three short years, this same league has pushed every adversary - including your kind, once comrades, now merely echoes - to the far edges of relevance, where your wailing lands like rain on a tin roof: loud, but leaving nothing behind.

And what "problems" do you speak of, ma? If you imagined Asiwaju was owed a second term served on a silver platter, untouched by rivalry or resistance, then I fear your many years have not necessarily brought the exposure to history one would expect.

Even the great Awolowo - visionary of visionaries - never tasted such uncontested dominance, not even within the Western Region he built with his own hands. His rivalry with Penkelemess is well documented, as is his agonizing conflict with Akintola.

Need I remind you, ma: we practice democracy, not monarchy. Ifá does not crown a President - the ballot does. And as with every election in a mature democracy, the road to power is never a straight path free of thorns. Not even Buhari, the Golden Star of the North to whom you gave your whole devotion, walked a race without contest. We were the soldiers who bled on that battleground Ma.

Finally, I implore you, ma: as you once backed the student against his own teacher and returned home with empty hands, you may well repeat that journey - backing the Kleptocrat and perennial contender against the Visionary.

Your right to choose wrongly will always be respected - but leave the Progressives to walk their path, and mind your own footing.
