En un momento de creciente polarización y desconfianza en las instituciones, la Carta Democrática Interamericana nos recuerda que la democracia no es solo un derecho de los pueblos de las #Americas; también es una obligación de los gobiernos gobernar democráticamente. Sigue siendo la expresión más poderosa de unidad y convicción de nuestra región en defensa de los principios democráticos.

La fortaleza de la Carta radica en su capacidad para fomentar el diálogo, prevenir crisis y ayudar a restablecer la legitimidad cuando se pierde. La democracia debe adaptarse mediante transparencia, inclusión y participación, para seguir inspirando confianza y ofrecer beneficios tangibles a la ciudadanía.

Al aproximarse su 25º aniversario, la Carta nos convoca a renovar el contrato social entre la ciudadanía y sus instituciones. La @OEA_Oficial reafirma su compromiso de defender y fortalecer la democracia como fundamento de la paz, la prosperidad y la dignidad humana en las Américas.
