@nicolefshirman This is one of my big pet peeves on hockey broadcasts (even local ones). This is what u do for a living so learn how to pronounce names correctly. U cant just show up and comment-u have to study. This is what makes the Isles broadcast so great!
@RTaub_ You're never as good as u r when ur winning or bad when ur losing. We all got lulled into believing they were that good when they were winning. There r some good pieces here and on the way. Things should get better. Lets not overreact to how this season ended.
@IslesTerritory@sydneyemartin And let's not forget that billeting begins for most of these kids when they r young teens playing junior hockey far from home. While most of these kids don't make the NHL, it is an invaluable part of the hockey playing journey to adulthood, and many retain lifelong friendships!
@islanders_takes Was thinking about u after this...i am on the other side of ur argument to not overpay goalies. No way US wins this tournament without Hellebucyk standing on his head. I know it's a short tournament so not the same as an NHL season, but did watching this move ur opinion at all?
@nicolefshirman Having been around for the dynasty days, I totally agree! His talent level is off the the charts, but for me what separates him from those guys is his energy and his personality to go along with it! The mark of a true superstar is they elevate others' games and he does that!
@islanders_takes As always, so well said Matt. Totally agree. I remember when Garth didn't resign him and I told @aaronfeigin that we would miss him more than Kyle. And we did. He personified this franchise for a long time.
@StapeNHL Well now I'm depressed! Thank u for all ur years covering the Isles and like everyone, can't wait to see what's next. U certainly will be missed at the Athletic.
@StapeAthletic These 2 hits go exactly to points you've made in the past-NHL players need to have a certain amount of respect for each others' careers. I know its the playoffs and frustration levels r higher, but no excuse for hitting someone without the puck.
@steve02760737 @StapeAthletic Please don't struggle...this is a good thing! You've seen the current product..Two hopefully legit prospects after years of trading them (and picks) away?!! Get ready for more pain but maybe we can look forward to both of them. In the meantime we're back to watching the lottery.
@academic_la This brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful perspective. I totally agree with u. Maybe we all need to start small and change the world 1 Jew and 1 Palestinian at a time.
@art_stapleton@saquon@northjersey As a Giants fan I can honestly say I'm routing for @saquon . He is now getting the career he deserves as a player and person. A career we only saw glimpses of with the Giants and at Penn State. . Very happy for him.
@ColbyCohen36 Couldn't both be true? TDA is a good person, but is it possible when he gets angry he becomes something else? (Punching Georgiev, screaming at Adam Pelech between the benches). I'm never a fan of playing with team chemistry, but if u need help on D and he doesn't cost anything..
@RTaub_ In addition to the winning, which of course was expected, regular and fun, there were so many great memories made with family, (@aaronfeigin I mean u!) that we still talk/laugh about today.
@stefen_rosner@TheHockeyNews OK, sounds good....but this all seems curious to me. He started out on the 2nd line but now has a limited role. What happened? It is concerning since he also dropped a lot to us in the draft. Is something up here?
