What drives innovation in machine learning?

In a new paper, we argue that application-driven work is systemically under-valued in the machine learning community, but that it's essential for both innovation and impact.

Setting up automated camera traps in Panama with a UV light to attract insects.

These AMI systems were designed by @UK_CEH based on the original design by @TokeHoye, Kim Bjerge, and team. Kudos to @AlbaGomezSegura for trap wizardry in the field!

This Copiopteryx moth also came to our lights. Recent research has shown that those "tails" actually confuse the echolocation of bats, keeping the moth safe as it flies!

Can you host a TV/Talk show to bring awareness and sensitivity among people in India for the climate change crisis?

Maybe like the ones hosted by @AttenboroughSir
