20 years ago I was diagnosed with #multiplesclerosis, and was told to stay quiet about the illness, because “No one wants to see a sick person on TV.”
Happy I didn’t listen. To all those who share the disease, I will continue to stand tall, be an advocate and raise awareness.
A multiple sclerosis patient in the UK was the first to receive CAR T cell therapy, invented by UCL researchers, in a clinical trial testing whether this personalised treatment can slow or even halt the progression of the disease. @uclqsion.bsky.social

“You may be exhausted and fragile right now…the #pain might be pushing you over the edge of what you can bear but somehow you have risen to meet every day before this… You have overcome so many impossible days. Just get through this day.” https://t.co/BhaAbwhsCJ #chronicillness
There are lots of "multiples" I wouldn't mind having... multiple chocolate bars, multiple days off from work, multiple song downloads... but NOT multiple sclerosis.
I'm sick. I'm not stupid or mentally disabled. I'm not crazy. It's not stress. It's not in my head. I'm not causing this myself. I'm not making it up. I'm learning about myself every day. How well I deal with this sickness. I can still do things for myself but I may need help.
