@salkhanacademy hi sir, I am a father of a 9 month old and I believe that khanmigo can provide her world class education that even money can’t buy. Not just for her but millions of people in India.
My question is-when is khanmigo coming to India? Even with $5-10/month.
The job of a leader is to lay down a vision, provide a rough roadmap, provide a set of guiding metrics, hire and retain good talent, create a team out of individuals, clear bottlenecks, create necessary processes, provide feedback and support, groom talent and get out of the way.
“Never give up” must be the most misguided advice.
“Never get ruined” is a lot wiser.
There is no guarantee destiny will reward you if you persevere in the wrong direction. Avoiding ruin often requires taking small loses. No shame in giving up. It's wiseness.
6. Liberate media - clear guidelines on how marketing budgets from government and political parties should be distributed between different channels and entities. Ideally it should be in direct proportion to the viewership to eliminate favouritism from the government.
Big ideas to solve India's problems-
1. Clear, transprnt and rapid feedback mechanism/discourse between citizens and politicians/beaurocracy. -one talks about pros/cons in my locality/city and that gets attributed to the concerned authority and gets rolled up to top leadership.
5. Overhaul election process with the end objective of having a progressive, informed and educated policy maker- having open debates prior to elections on important issues should help.
US is solving AI, space travel, transportation- electric cars and FSD, manufacturing, sustainable energy- nuclear fusion, medicine and death. They will continue to lead and expand their domination.
Identifying, recruiting and retaining intelligent people with high agency are each tremendously difficult. Each stage has its own challenges. If you are able to hire and keep 5 such people for 5-10 years each, your career is set.
Building a good set of metrics to track is often very difficult as it requires a comprehensive understanding of the problem. Also, metrics should evolve with evolution in understanding. Also, not everything can/ should be tracked. Few people get this.
Poor/lazy questions that require significant followup efforts, to avoid taking a decision/giving directions due to lack of attention/laziness/interest/aptitude, especially from senior leadership are very costly and demotivating.
I don't intend to say if you don't marry out of choice, you are not leading a normal life. The definition of normal is somewhat open to interpretation in some areas where choice is involved- marriage, child bearing, etc.
A normal life- free from congenital diseases, away from abject poverty, average education, a job, a married life, children with no congenital deformities/diseases, no untimely deaths in family and a peaceful death is a good life to have. No one truly appreciates this normalcy.
I can tell you firsthand that students from even top MBA programs (Harvard/INSEAD/IIMs) struggle to invest their own money
This is a deeply underrated skill
