The eMudhra leak has become a major cyber security issue globally. Many global infosec accounts and experts are questioning the capability of Indian Firms. While some of their criticism is justified but we need to ask them one question. Can they sing two stanzas of Vande Mataram?
Akshay, you know very well that Amit Shah is the one giving protection to these gangsters. He is directly responsible for threatening your livelihoods, your family’s safety and your fellow actors in the industry.
The more you behave like slaves in front of him, the more he will treat you like trash. But the moment you unite as an industry and take a courageous stand, they will be taken aback.
Luckily, you have earned enough money and fame for next 5 generations. This Gunda Raj of dictator will end soon, in a few more years. The only questions is, How will you look back upon this time? What will you tell your grandchildren?
That you bowed down in the hope of an illusion of safety? Or you had the guts to show some courage? Take some inspiration from your fellow industry people like Imran Khan and Prakash Raj.
I know the whole industry is under a lot of pressure but the sooner we have our country back, the sooner you and your fellow actors can have the good old freedom and peace again :)
Hindi is such a complex language to learn if you don't grow up speaking it. Each number from 1 to 99 has its own unique name, you need to learn how to gender nonsentient objects, and some translations don't make sense, for example instead of "fascist" we say "pradhan mantri"
When even the Tricolour isn’t safe from the censor’s scissors, perhaps the problem isn’t the art. It’s the regime.
Just hours before @raihanrvadra was to open his art show ‘No Idea Is Final’ 74 artworks - nearly half the exhibition - were taken down for being “political”, by the Bikaner House.
The photographs merely documented protests, and not one was derogatory or inflammatory. So what exactly was the offence?
One of the works Raihaan had to 'fight' to retain was a photograph of the Indian flag. Otherwise, the walls meant for art were left with nothing but exposed iron nails, gleaming under the spotlights - a chilling metaphor for censorship.
Imagine a government so threatened by ideas that not just protests, but even photographs of protests - and the Tricolour itself - have become intolerable.
The end must be close.

When someone with power becomes afraid of the expression of another, he doesn’t know it, but he has already lost the very power he is trying to protect.
You stand for what is true and everything beautiful will find its way to you.
I am proud of you, always will be.

Every Indian needs to know about this because it is a massive deal for how we trust anything on the internet.
Let me explain.
When you open your bank's website, there's a small padlock next to the web address. That padlock means two things.
First, that you're talking to your real bank.
And second that nobody can read what you type, like your password.
So how does your browser know the website is real?
It checks the website's certificate. Think of it like an ID card for a website.
Your Aadhaar is trusted because the government issued it. A website's ID card is trusted because a certificate authority issued it.
A certificate authority, or CA, is a company that browsers like Chrome, Firefox and Safari already trust. If a CA says "yes, this really is this bank's website," your browser believes it and shows the padlock.
eMudhra is an Indian CA. It's a big one, with more than 60 million certificates issued over the years.
So how does a CA sign these ID cards?
Every CA has a secret number called a private key. It uses that number to put a stamp on each certificate.
Your browser checks the stamp to confirm it really came from that CA.
The whole system only works if that number is impossible to guess.
For the type of key in this story, it's supposed to be around 116 digits long.
Every computer on Earth working together for billions of years wouldn't be able to guess a number like that, just because of the sheer combinations that exist.
But here's what happened.
On October 17, Mozilla got a report that the private keys behind eight eMudhra certificates had been compromised.
The report came through a person called Wayne on Google's Chrome team.
The keys weren't 116 digits long.
All eight keys were smaller than 256. Security researcher Scott Helme found that one of them was just the number 4. Others were 66, 155, 156, 230 and 237.
So anyone could break them by trying 256 numbers. A basic laptop does that in less than a second.
Mozilla didn't need to know how Wayne did it. Its own team recovered the keys within two hours. Since then, several other people have found them on their own too.
To understand the gravity of the problem, a bad actor could make fake ID cards for any website they want.
Your bank, your email, a government portal.
Browsers that trusted eMudhra would have checked the fake stamp and shown the padlock like everything was fine.
If someone could get between you and the internet, say on public Wi-Fi, they could show you a fake site with a real-looking padlock and read or change what you send.
eMudhra says a script used during its key creation process back in April 2025 had a flaw. It made a second, much weaker set of keys, and those were used by mistake to create the certificates.
That means these weak keys were there for about a year and a half before anyone caught it. eMudhra says the person who found it may have used AI-assisted techniques.
The good news is that the response was fast.
Mozilla received the report at 8:06 pm UTC on October 17 and had pushed a block to Firefox users by 10:59 pm.
Google, Apple and Microsoft have also blocked these certificates for their users.
eMudhra revoked all eight the next morning and stopped issuing new certificates from the affected root.
Mozilla is now removing that root certificate from Firefox's trusted list altogether.
But there's still a lot of clean-up to do.
Browsers are mostly covered. But plenty of apps, servers and backend systems don't check these block lists. They need software updates to stop trusting the bad certificates, and some of those updates are still pending.
Real websites that used eMudhra are also affected. Yash Kadakia, founder of Security Brigade, estimates around 30,000 legitimate certificates will need to be moved over. A lot of those are likely Indian businesses and services.
See, we're moving our whole lives online, UPI, banking, tax filing, DigiLocker, government services.
All of it rests on this invisible layer of trust.
So, when an Indian company that's trusted by every major browser makes a mistake this basic, it hurts how the world sees Indian digital infrastructure.
This has happened before, and it went very badly.
In 2011, a Dutch CA called DigiNotar was hacked, and fake Google certificates were used to spy on people in Iran.
Browsers stopped trusting it completely, and the company shut down soon after.
For now, here's what you can do. Keep your browser and apps updated on your phone and laptop.
Be careful on public Wi-Fi. Type your bank's website address yourself instead of clicking links.
eMudhra still owes India a clear, public explanation of how a key that protects millions of people ended up being the number 4.
The first rule of this government's response to any crisis unfolding in our great country, is to lash out at the people who exposed the crisis in the most bitter and spiteful way. They're like children, except with far too much power and responsibility.
In 2011, then Gujarat Chief Minister Thiru @narendramodi avl said that if his hands were not tied, he would have gone to Delhi and waged war against the central government. Thiru Narendra Modi avl made this statement in response to the police crackdown on the peaceful anti-corruption campaign led at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi. In my opinion, what the Hon PM said then was absolutely right, and there is nothing wrong about it.
Today, you could be jailed indefinitely; your surety bonds could be rejected; and, surprisingly, a Special Executive Magistrate will play circles around you when he/ she is empowered to deal with preventive bond cases.
If you question the violation of due process of law in a democracy, you would be called names, and a barrage of attacks would follow, including being labelled a Foreign Agent.
Ever since I asked the Central Government to speak with the protestors during the NEET exam protests, I have faced constant attacks, but I let them pass because I felt it was important to focus on the issues on the ground in Tamil Nadu. I also, in a way, enjoyed this as it would quickly remove the tag of me being a BJP B Team and sent to TN as a Dhurandhar 😍
Yesterday during a press meeting, I questioned the Delhi Police’s methods of detaining protestors of CJP.
Since yesterday, the attacks have resumed, as expected. For some in the BJP, let me make this categorically clear, in case you have selective amnesia: I left the BJP on June 5, 2026.
As I mentioned yesterday, I might not agree with the tactics of the CJP, and I think many of theirs are misguided. But if you ask me whether they have a right to oppose/argue/protest on an issue that they think is important?
I would categorically say - YES.
So, I would like people to ask the questions again, even if it makes some of them uncomfortable, and I wish the Central Government would answer them instead of resorting to whataboutism.
https://t.co/U1VOaaWCLM was Jantar Mantar denotified as a protest site as per a standing order of the Ministry of Home Affairs after a letter was handed over by CJP seeking permission to conduct a protest?
https://t.co/Gn79sPgy7b long can we have a system that gives powers to an Asst Commissioner of Police as a Special Executive Magistrate who rules over whether to keep someone in preventive detention? The ACP of Delhi Police stands over the trial where Delhi Police is the complainant against the accused CJP. Now you know which way the wind will blow.
3.On October 19th, why did the Special Executive Magistrate, aka ACP of Delhi Police, deliberately arrive late for the bail hearing of those who were arrested from Jantar Mantar on October 13th and recuse himself, saying there is a threat to his life? Is this some kind of a joke?
4.Why were 8 sureties rejected, and why was the person who came for surety subjected to cross-examination by the Special Executive Magistrate?
5. Any action taken on pellet gun usage by the Delhi police or other actions on Delhi police who have violated the standard operating procedures against the protesters during the NEET fiasco stir?
Has no BJP karyakarta in Delhi violated any bond conditions during the previous Congress and AAP governments. I trust the same Delhi police were then also when barricades were jumped and orders disobeyed? How were they dealt with then? Like this?
Definitely - NO.
Now I hear that the detained functionaries of CJP were released by SEM after the case reached the High Court.
I also recently saw a cockroach effigy burned as part of the Dusshera celebrations. Out of curiosity, I tried to find out who is giving this free publicity at a National level. No surprises here. It was led by a BJP MLA, Ashok Goel.
My question again is: is the BJP opposing the CJP or giving it free publicity? Does it want the opposition votes to split by making CJP a bigger player? At this rate, the CJP couldn’t have asked for a better PR team, even if it had paid for one! (1/2)
The irony of working class Indians burning cockroach effigies to demonise working class protesters, while living and dying like cockroaches themselves, crushed under the boots of the very regime and billionaire class they worship.

Fun Fact:
BJP has been a power partner in Punjab for 15 years. ( 1997-2002 & 2007-17).
2007-17 was the period when drugs consumption boomed in Punjab, smuggling routes established, dealer networks formed and the gangs mushroomed with the help of political backing.
