To make this happen, a solid platform is very necessary.
Quoting from personal experience, we have spent time building the platform and now we are using AI as an automation layer accelerating things. So it's always platform first for us. A good platform hides a lot of technology consulting and architecting underneath.
IMO, using AI as an assistant automating what the platform does is a good balance between fundamentals and AI capabilities.

Working outside of the hype cycle requires to look at applications beyond a 5 minute demo and focus on fundamentals.
