I was terrified of bringing my story to light (I’m still terrified), but I can’t keep it to myself anymore. This behavior has been especially egregious, but the problem isn’t limited to one person. I’m sharing my story so we can figure out how to make it stop #metoo#metoolaw
More from this article below. The trial has been shelved, but I’m moving for sanctions to recover fees I’ve incurred over the past year and a half related to this litigation. That hearing will be March 24-25. Here’s hoping the judicial system restores my faith in it.
Over the past 24 hours, former FTC commissioner @JoshWright1977 settled a defamation lawsuit against @ElyseOnLife and dropped claims against @adiveland (both had accused him of sexual misconduct in 2023). A March 10 trial in Fairfax has been shelved.

@JoshWright1977 subpoenaed me in his $108 million defamation lawsuit. He asks for comms with the parties, which the parties have. Why would he ask me for documents he can get from the parties if his goal is anything other than harassment? @ElyseOnLife@adiveland
This decision preserves an important avenue for universities to protect survivors from retaliation, at a time when #retaliatorydefamation lawsuits are frequently weaponized to silence them. This is a critical step to eradicating sexual harassment under Title IX. #metoo#metoolaw
I can’t believe it’s been a year… It’s fitting that this piece came out today. Thanks to @ebruenig for the excellent coverage on such an important issue
One year since the tweet heard around #lawtwitter, and a critical piece by @TheAtlantic@ebruenig is out -- laying bare the ways in which retaliatory defamation suits silence survivors who would have the audacity to speak up, and the desperate need for legislative change. #metoo
I feel like this is describing me. I can think of several times I’ve done this in situations like this. Smile politely, try to brush it off, hope I can walk away soon, and definitely don’t cause trouble! This whole thread is really interesting.
@ProfLaFrance 4️⃣ Harassed women also showed more non-Duchenne smiling (fake smile), what people may feel obligated to do when powerless and trying to get out of an uncomfortable situation.
How women IMAGINE they'd react to sexual harassment is wildly different from how they ACTUALLY react when harassed.
Julie Woodzicka & @ProfLaFrance created sexual harassment in lab and tested how women reacted when harassed by a male interviewer in real time.
What happened:🧵
I did a follow-up show on the @swipestrangers podcast about the latest events in the saga of alleged sexual harasser and admitted prolific cheater former Prof. Joshua Wright. #metoo

The ledes in the three part series on Google and Facebook’s fixer are incredible.
Part 1: Joshua Wright, the tech industry's indispensable fixer, was summoned to his boss's office in late 2019 and asked a question that set the course for his fall. /1
1/ Explosive reporting from @BrodyMullinsDC with @WSJ on Josh Wright and the institutions that seemingly ignored obvious red flags while benefiting from his activities. @GeorgeMasonU is among these institutions, receiving millions in gifts from Wright's consulting clients.
tfw your absolutely unhinged retaliatory lawsuit against women you admit to sleeping with while they were your students, RAs, and direct reports leads @WSJ to print a 3-part expose showing the world your true colors @JoshWright1977#metoo#metoolaw
@JoshWright1977@Fortune500@BrodyMullinsDC This is exactly why #sexualharassment continues today. Even when all the facts support survivors--predator admits the conduct, countless other women confirm, and multiple investigations revealed cause for termination--survivors still face years of costly litigation #metoo
@JoshWright1977@Fortune500 Thank you, @BrodyMullinsDC, for recognizing the importance of telling stories about how--even in 2024--powerful men are institutionally protected against myriad allegations of misconduct, while women survivors are routinely disbelieved & humiliated for trying to protect others.
