We can' meet the highest of our academic needs unless we first meet the basics of Maslow's needs.

@SchoolsLewiston gets it. I'm proud to be a teacher in this district. We focus on feeding them, checking in on families, and THEN meet them where they're at.

What do I WANT to be doing?
Teaching my students.
Showing them the power of books.
Showing them how amazing they are.
Giving them the biggest hugs.
Being silly with them.
Cheering them on.

But I can't, so instead, I will write them each a note.

Today was our first Friday session of Tiger's P.R.I.D.E!

Fourth graders started their day by making jewelry, played hockey, did some needle felting, learned some cheering, getting outdoors, doing yoga, hand drumming and more.

Who wishes this was around when we were in school?

Today 80+ students came into school, buzzing with smiles ear to ear. They were so excited to start Tiger's P.R.I.D.E!
Science experiements, 4 square, basketball, art, hip hop, photography, cooking club, scrapbooking and more...
The electricity was amazing. Cant wait for Friday!
