In ancient Rome the Hawthorn tree was sacred to Cardea , a goddess of doorways and hinges 🚪 ✨
She guarded the thresholds and protected homes from evil spirits...a very curious thing given the Hawthorn tree's reputation as a doorway to the Celtic Otherworld in Ireland 🛡️
The Hawthorn can live for as much as 400 years and throughout the year it provides food and shelter for hundreds of species of birds, insects and mammals.
And in Rome, people would hang branches of this miraculous tree over the cribs of newborns as it was known to enhance the protective power offered by Cardea thus assisting her in protecting the newborn from the demons drawn to the energy of the infant 👹👻
I can’t imagine being a drummer and losing your front man, then becoming the front man only to lose your drummer… rest in peace Taylor Hawkins, and peace be with you Dave Grohl, just devastating
@amnestyOz It’s pretty awful that we have such a beautiful country full of such a variety of different cultures already and yet these refugees have to settle somewhere else. Our immigration laws are shameful
