What's next for community land registration in 🇰🇪?
Today, with @NLC_Kenya , we released the 'Advisory Report on Fast-Tracking the Transition of Group Ranches to Community Land in Kenya.'The report highlights the progress, challenges & recommendations for the transition process.
Some key recommendations from the report include;
➡️The Ministry of Land & Public works to allocate more funds; simplify statutory forms & develop inclusive register templates.
➡️@NLC_Kenya to monitor registration processes & develop an inventory of public land within communities
Thematic Session 2 has begun, highlighting collective bargaining in carbon markets and advocacy strategies for equitable benefit-sharing. Panelists are sharing valuable insights on ensuring fairness for communities in carbon projects. Moderated by David Arach. #LandSummit2024
