I think I speak for a lot of people when I say this.
For years, Sunday nights meant Top Gear. We’d sit down at 8pm and watch Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May do what they did best.
Now, through Clarkson’s Farm, Jeremy has introduced a whole new generation to the realities of British farming and earned the respect of millions all over again.
He’s made us laugh, he’s frustrated us, and he’s entertained us for decades.
Get well soon, Jezza.
The country is rooting for you. ❤️🇬🇧🙏
This is PC Jess Turnbull and aged just 19 she has died in the line of active duty.😔💔
She was struck by a Mercedes in a horrific crash while attending another collision in Northumberland.💔
Jess only joined Northumberland Police in September and was rushed to hospital where she was in a critical condition following the crash on the A189 in Cramlington.
The force has now said she has died in hospital surrounded by her loved ones.💔
The driver of the Mercedes, a 73-year-old man, was arrested following the incident but then discharged.
He has now been re-arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.
Chief Cons Jardine gave a moving tribute to Jess, she said: "Our thoughts very much continue to be with her family, friends and all those who have been impacted by this devastating loss. We will continue to support her loved ones in any way we can.
"Policing is a family, and we are mourning the passing of not only a colleague and a friend, but also our own family member, and we will continue to support each other during this extremely difficult time.
"Jess was relatively new in service, with so much still to look forward to in her career and life. She was a dedicated and committed officer who always sought to do her best to keep her communities safe.
"Every single day police officers up and down the country face danger to protect the public. Thankfully, most go home, tragically on this occasion Jess did not.
"I’m grateful to all those who wear the uniform with pride to keep us all safe. Jess made the ultimate sacrifice and will never be forgotten."
Today the flag at Northumbria Police’s headquarters, in Wallsend, was flying at half mast
I’m sorry but how dare some talk about black peoples go home.
I’m fucking raging.
I was born here, mum and dad born here. Educated here.
Fought, willing to kill, die! Almost did. How dare you talk about me going back to my own country.
Watch me and my brothers and sisters fight for 20yrs then when it’s over tell me to do one.
You’ve not walked a single step in my shoes.

The Office of Constable.
A police officer is a Constable. A Constable is the holder of the Office of Constable.
This means they hold the additional legal powers of
arrest and control of the public. These powers are granted directly by a sworn oath and warrant.
These powers are not delegated powers. The powers they hold are their own, not given to them by their boss or any organisation.
Unlike police officers in most other countries, Constables are not agents of the police force, police authority or government.
Those who hold the Office of Constable are servants of the Crown. Each sworn constable is an independent
legal official. They hold their own powers and each constable has personal liability for the use of those powers, for their actions or their inaction.
The chief officer of the force to which the constable is attached, in addition to being a constable themselves, also has a level of corporate responsibility, but no authority to instruct a constable to use their powers in a particular way. A constable is solely responsible for the way they use the powers they hold.
Political interference in policing has compromised the integrity of the Office of Constable. That integrity must be restored.
I've seen the body worn. I never judge incidents unless I was there or have heard people who were.
But I'm going to judge this.
This is a serious breach of at least three established operational protocols. Basic day one training school stuff.
It's sloppiness, pure and simple.
It’s not often I write a post like this, but I feel I need too. After 19 years as a cop, and giving my life for the public I’ve never met, believing in a better tomorrow…..I’m utterly disgusted, ashamed and have absolutely no faith in our justice system anymore.
An officer was fired for arresting a violent offender, who was armed with a weapon, because he had used some naughty words. The same ex-officer tackled a shoplifter who’s been charged with a plethora of offences, but has now been charged with assault after taking the offender to the floor. (Which is what he was trained to do)
Then two violent thugs, assault various people, attack female officers, and when an officer steps in to do his job, they can’t get a guilty verdict or won’t run a final trial.
I’m lost for words and have absolutely no faith in CPS, their decision making, or the justice system.
This is not just a case for the police, but shows the greater community that if you’re decent and law abiding, witness a crime and want to help…..you’ll have the book thrown at you.
However if you want to fight to police……it’s perfectly fine to do so.
We've been conducting a major @NATO exercise in London this week - and no one above ground suspected a thing.
Hundreds of soldiers have been testing how they would run a major NATO command post, hidden deep beneath one of the busiest cities on earth.

This is absolutely disgusting, quite literally overnight around 5% of your pension is gone, your money !!!
And before the “yes but it’s a good pension” brigade chime up, stick over £400 a month into a savings account for 30 years and you’ll have a good one too
"Apprehending violent and dangerous criminals is a full contact and messy task which may appear shocking to observers with little experience of policing in the real world."
Sir Mark Rowley
The UK terrorist threat level has been raised to SEVERE – meaning an attack is highly likely.
For you, the public, this means remaining alert but not alarmed.
If you see anything that doesn’t feel right report via https://t.co/AZvXoV84Qg.
In an emergency always call 999.
Only a week since a jury couldn’t reach a verdict on GBH with intent on a Police Officer, a man has been charged with attempted murder of a Police Officer.
Wishing our injured colleague a speedy recovery and I hope they are receiving the support they deserve.
