@fordnation Tolls are not a matter of “if” but “when” - traffic congestion becomes more unbearable every year and ripping out bike lanes isn’t the answer. Toll it and provide rebates to key groups and we will probably see less angry and congested roads that are a powderkeg all the time
@CP24 It would be interesting to see how much an underground extension of line 5 or a branch of line 2 would cost to UtSC. along with the provincial priority to extend line 4 and some well placed cheap brt would improve things greatly. CoT should start bldg what they can w/ their $$$
Joël-Denis Bellavance on more possible floor-crossings: "I'm told up to ten MPs are still in discussion with Liberal delegates from Mr. Carney's office ... they're still hoping to get more opposition MPs from the Conservative Party, or even the NDP -- not the Bloc Québécois, I don't think."
Toronto could install partial platform screen doors across the TTC network which would save lives and prevent delays. Probably faster than full ones at a lower cost.
@AtIssueCBC@RosieBarton@acoyne@ChantalHbert@althiaraj i think a bit more context setting at the front end of the episode would have been good @RosieBarton - what is this confidential briefing about? is it normal practice with trade missions? 1st segment on india-canada relations was way too 'inside baseball' for this regular viewer
5. REFORM BUILDING AND FIRE CODES TO CREATE BEAUTIFUL, AFFORDABLE CITIES
I have spoken a lot about this one lately but it’s worth repeating. Ending the housing crisis doesn’t mean building ugly.
We need building code reform!

@WBMetro62 This is the actual line needed to better reduce travel times with this infrastructure so ppl doing cross city and cross regional travel on transit can better access ends and points on this line closer to where they want to get to whether from subway or heavy rail stops
@AlexanderGlista@donnelly_b Or hit both with a branched line Y - easy enough with automated trains and Go service overlapping roughly with both corridors

Ont tories are just making congestion worse. So many real solutions - start by strengthening the transit system and investing in ready projects - brts on dundas (west) and hwy 2 (east). These are easy quick(ish) wins.
I bet if @GreenPParking redevelop the 2 church street lot into housing or another use (likely w/ less than less than the almost 2000 existing spots this lot will get used 1000% more…maybe there’s a long term play here…. https://t.co/wEVftryRG9
@PrabSarkaria Please at least build the pre-requisite requirements so that adding a cummer/drewry station in the project can be done as easily and cheaply as possible post project
What would be better is funding to finish the job on transit in the city/region- basket Go 2.0, extend ont line w to bloor and n to sheppard, and extend shep w to airport under 401 + east to utsc (Doug Ford says he expects Carney to back his 401 tun) https://t.co/jdsGoDirin
I just sent an email in support of the @DanKing4All campaign, asking City Hall to move forward with a public meeting on planned safety improvements to Danforth Ave and Kingston Rd.
