@elonmusk@kylaschwaberow Yup. In this case, the driver manually overrode self-driving by pressing the accelerator all the way to 100% of the accel pedal in this residential area. They reached a speed of 73 mph during the crash, and had the accelerator pressed even after the crash.

In IIHS pedestrian front crash prevention tests, @Cybertruck avoided every single collision – daytime, nighttime & different angles
It was also the only pickup to earn Top Safety Pick+ (highest award) in 2026

If you need more reasons to tell your friends why to buy a Tesla, JD Power has a few. Tesla was 'unofficially' ranked 3rd IQS (initial quality), 1st in EVX (EV experience) https://t.co/H4s5ewHepf https://t.co/H4s5ewHepf
Once you go Tesla FSD, it’s honestly almost impossible to go back to anything else.
You start noticing how much mental energy normal driving takes. With FSD handling the driving, I can actually enjoy the scenery, have real conversations with my family, listen to podcasts without constantly scanning every mirror, and arrive feeling more relaxed instead of mentally drained.
The biggest difference, though, is the stress… which believe it or not takes a major toll on your health over time.
Long road trips that used to leave me exhausted now feel peaceful. Stop-and-go traffic isn’t something I dread anymore. It just becomes part of the ride.
And from a safety perspective, I think this is where the technology matters most. Tesla’s FSD is always paying attention. It doesn’t get tired, distracted by a phone, or drive under the influence. It uses cameras and AI to monitor everything around the car at the same time, hundreds of times every second. That’s a huge reason why I believe this technology will prevent countless accidents over time.
I’ve been using Tesla FSD every day since the beta launch in 2020, and seeing how far it’s come has been incredible. Every major update has made it feel more natural, more confident, and more capable.
Once you experience it for yourself, you start thinking differently of all the possibilities of what driving really means… I genuinely believe this is one of the most consequential technologies of our time.
FSD is priceless.
FSD v14 Lite is now rolling out to AI3 early-access customers. Based on the feedback, will rollout to more customers over the next few weeks.
This build distills the driving behavior from AI4’s v14 series into both the camera and compute config of AI3. It includes destination options and speed profiles on city roads, but more importantly significantly improved safety.
We hope you’ll enjoy it, once the build ships wide.
Really impressive first few drives with FSD v14 lite!
Big leap in capability and feature set from v12.6.4, it’s tuned for safety right now so it’s taking things slow and smoothly.
Highway performance was notably great. More videos and a very long form review later once I get a few more hours of driving in.
Great FSD v14 lite drive.
Zero interventions from Century City to the Pacific Palisades.
Such smooth driving, it feels like it has the DNA of v14 on AI4. Lane changes are buttery smooth, and acceleration/braking inputs are very refined.
“Tesla FSD is still really buggy! Why isn’t it going after this light turned green?!”

I’ve really learned to not doubt FSD. If it does something “weird” it’s typically for a very good reason.
23 years ago, we set out to prove that electric cars could be great – not just great electric cars, but the best cars overall.
We’ve gone from one electric sports car to
– Over 9 million vehicles on the road
– Model Y becoming the world’s best-selling car of any kind only 3 years after first deliveries
– 5 Gigafactories & other manufacturing sites across 3 continents
– The largest & most reliable fast charging network w/ over 80,000 Superchargers globally
– Energy generation & storage systems helping power homes & grids (over 1 million Powerwalls installed, 70+ GWh of industrial energy storage operating globally across 2,200+ projects)
Today, we’re bringing AI into the real world with autonomy @Tesla_AI and robotics @Tesla_Optimus.
Tesla is only getting started – a world of amazing abundance awaits
