Hypercapitalism is killing us. The world's 10 richest men have *doubled* their wealth during this pandemic - while 99% of people have seen incomes fall. A one-off 99% tax on these 10 men's pandemic windfalls could fund vaccines for the world says @oxfam. https://t.co/mCGpwJHYqY
@toymango Dunk your head in a bucket of cold water. It triggers a mammalian stress response which eases the physical symptoms of anxiety. This is the best SOS technique that I know.
@hulsey_ryan@randonerd@tufannadjafi Sounds like they didn’t have social media to entertain themselves and convey news using the least characters possible.
@roryreckons Oh my god! When I was in my teens, I used to think that I started getting “dumb” after age 12. Diagnosed 20 years after then, it sounds like late onset! I didn’t know it was a thing!
@roryreckons Omg. I literally just did this when I got too bored of my reading and decided to use that frustration to clean my room- a task I have been procrastinating for a while.
Thread: #MoinulHaque
Let's start with the immediate reason of why Braveheart Moinul Haque died.
This is the photo of the girl who was assaulted by the police. Which enraged Moinul Hoque and he ran with stick towards them.

@roryreckons Feminist theory critiques binary thinking in dominant western worldview-masculine and feminine being one of the central binaries along which many others align. Reason is dominant, public and masculine and emotions are marginalized, relegated to the private sphere and feminine.
@GeraintWorks@roryreckons I think what gets labeled typical varies from culture to culture. Like small talk is something Americans excel at and deviating from it is seen neurodivergent but most Indians who come to the US struggle with it too.
@GeraintWorks@roryreckons I’m from India and studying in the US. There are a lot of things that get labeled as neirodivergent traits which to me seem cultural traits. E.g. using hand gestures while talking can be a neurodivergent thing but also a cultural stereotype of Italians.
We do not believe“the daughter should be punished for the sins of the father.” The revelations, however, raise key questions about the ethical obligations of all scholars who do ethnographic and archival research in Kashmir" https://t.co/1cgHX2fKUH #ResearchEthicsInKashmir 1/n
Am baffled by those who are saying that it should be judged on its own merits, and the "sins of the father" should not be visited on the child. This is a question of consent, which is critical to the integrity of scholarship.
Kudos to @arpitayodapress for principled publishing.
