A scathing reality check from TOI editorial that completely vindicates Team Bharat: the e20 mandate is a textbook botched policy driven by distillery profits over public interest.
The disastrous trade-off:
• Fake energy savings: Displaces very little petrol/km while reducing vehicle mileage.
• Economic blunder: Only makes financial sense if crude touches $120–$130/bbl. At ~$70 crude, we're burning cash.
• Food security disaster: 29% of maize diverted to fuel tanks. We spent 30x more forex importing edible oil than we "saved" on ethanol restrictions.
• Ecological crime: 4,670 liters of precious groundwater wasted for a single liter of maize ethanol, draining fragile aquifers.
We aren't saving foreign exchange; we're just shifting dependence from foreign crude to imported food while gutting our water tables. Scrap the first-gen biofuel lobby racket.

An Indian engineer in Bengaluru got tired of potholes destroying his car.
So he built an app with Codex that detects them, finds who is responsible, and files a complaint.
Here is how it works. He installed a dashcam with GPS and an accelerometer. The app records everything while he drives.
A vision model classifies every pothole by size. Small, medium, large.
But here is the clever part. Most Indian roads are under warranty.
The contractor who built them is legally responsible for fixing potholes for free.
His app searches through 2,900 government contracts, finds the exact tender number, identifies the officer responsible, attaches the photo and geolocation, and generates a ready-to-file complaint.
One drive to work. 12 potholes detected. 12 complaints ready.

@firstpost Can they spend time in finding the treatment rather than changing the name. There is no treatment available, other than regulating it just like diabetes.
In other countries, governments would have provisions to help under privileged citizens. In our country, forget the provisions, the govt destroys all the small efforts/provisions made by people to live their life with little dignity even in that disability. Ashamed @Dev_Fadnavis
In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a disabled woman watched her small pottery shop get crushed during an anti-encroachment drive.
Her livelihood… shattered with every broken pot. 💔
@the_lama_singh@DSGMCDelhi If they all actually function under the hukum of Gurunanak saheb ji, they would know that none of these were taught by him. He had his feet facing Kaaba, asked them to point his feet where God is not present. Similarly, is God only present inside gurudwara? He taught humility/lov
A woman with visible abs did more biological work than the man next to her with the same abs. Her body is built to hold that fat, and it gives it up last.
Your body holds a baseline amount of fat it will not let go of, no matter what you do. For men, that baseline is 2-5% of your weight. For women, it is 10-13% (American Council on Exercise). The female body builds in that extra reserve for pregnancy and lactation. It is not optional.
Visible abs typically show up at 10-12% body fat for a man and 16-20% for a woman. A man hits that line by getting fit. A woman hits it much closer to the lowest her body will safely go.
Then there is the hormone gap. Men have about twenty times more testosterone than women do. Testosterone is the main thing that builds muscle, so the same training builds a thicker, more visible six-pack on a man. A woman is working with less muscle to show through the fat in the first place.
The fat itself also holds on tighter to a female body. The fat cells on a woman's lower belly, hips and thighs have a lot more of the microscopic switches that keep fat locked in, and fewer of the switches that release it. Estrogen adds even more of the lock-in switches. Same diet, same training, and the last layer of belly fat comes off noticeably slower on a female body. Often months slower.
Push a woman below 15% body fat and her body starts turning off non-essential functions to save energy. In ultra-lean sports like gymnastics and distance running, up to 69% of female athletes reach that threshold, versus 2-5% of the general population (a 2023 clinical review). That is the physiological frontier she is working near.
So the woman with abs next to the man with abs is doing something biologically different. She is training against a higher fat floor, a weaker muscle-building hormone, fat cells that resist harder, and a body that will pull the brakes if she pushes too far.
Call the aesthetic what you want. Biologically, she is closer to a world record than a gym regular.
@BJP4India Is this account hacked? Can't believe you are openly throwing in money to get votes..Well, in the end it all has to come out in open. Curious, @grok is there no EC in the country?
@talk2anuradha Going out in our cities feels like a war..if you come back home safe without a mishap, it feels like a blessing. Not to forget the endless honking, traffic, chaos, pothole do give you a headache even if you come back safe. Staying at home is the best option.
