The @nytimes banned tobacco ads in 1999 to protect its readers' health. 22 years later, it's still making ads for the companies fuelling the climate crisis. Sign this petition to stop the #AdsNotFit2Print! ➡️ https://t.co/sJ9VrejX00

"...That’s why our latest project is an attempt to get the @nytimes@TBrandStudio to stop making advertisements for the fossil fuel industry. We started with the Times because we were hopeful that it would actually move on this."

Hey @SebTomich, we read that in 2021 you felt a real sense of optimism. It won’t last long if the @nytimes and @TBrandStudio don’t commit to stop making and running the #adsnotfit2print for fossil fuel companies...

The @nytimes has a moral choice to make. Protect its readers from misleading ads paid by fossil fuel companies, or continue colluding with the industry to betray its readers & its climate journalists.
It shouldn't be a hard choice to make - ask the @bmj_latest if you need advice
The latest edition of Cool It is out. In it, I write about Anne of Green Gables, Environmentalism, and @adsnotfit2print.
Here's to a new year, with no mistakes in it yet.

Hey @nytimes, let’s start the New Year with good intentions, set a date for @tbrandstudio to stop taking money from fossil fuel companies for the #adsnotfit2print. https://t.co/bc67cKgO2R
By making and running ads for oil & gas companies, the @nytimes supports climate denial and #CorporatePropaganda.
Stop exposing your readers to the #adsnotfit2print. ➡️https://t.co/qJYPHtGlSl
As @tbrandstudio continues to push misleading ads for Exxon, Chevron and Shell despite the recent Congressional hearing on those companies for their role in pushing #climatedisinformation, how long will it be before we're seeing headlines like this in real life too?
“the @nytimes needs to […] understand that
#climatechange is real,
fossil fuels are the primary cause,
and to be promoting these products is a […] reprehensible policy for any newspaper that purports to report the truth” @DoctorVive for Heated. ⤵️

.@GeoffreySupran@NaomiOreskes are "experts in the history of climate disinformation" who "want to set the record straight."
"So here, in black & white (& color), is a selection of big oil’s thousands of deceptive climate ads from 1984 to 2021."

Many of the ads in this @Harvard scholars' collection of disinformation have run in the @nytimes. Hell, some of them are even made by @TBrandStudio.👇
Why is the paper of record acting like climate change isn't real and we don't have to stop producing oil and gas?
After a recent hearing, @RepMaloney issued subpoenas to 6 Oil & Gas execs - including contracts with PR firms hired back to 2015. @nytimes and @TbrandStudio, pledging to stop making fossil fuel ads would be a good move before those docs come to light...
While @nytclimate journalists invested big in the outlet's #COP26#ClimateHub, the outlet still makes misleading ads for fossil fuel companies. Sign our petition to stop the #AdsNotFit2print. https://t.co/bc67cKgO2R
