Here I am explaining the legal position to the RO for #NA148 Multan in the presence of Yousaf Raza Gillani’s son. Despite this, the RO has still not informed us when the recount will commence. #InsafKiGhari

RO in @taimur_malik case is delaying recounting. Despite the fact this is his legal right under the Election Act 2017. @ECP_Pakistan . Taimoor was made to lose by 250 votes. This is his seat. He won by clear majority

It is now 1.49pm and RO is sitting in his chamber and we are waiting outside. No decision given regarding recounting as yet despite clear legal position. We will continue to wait.

We will win this through legal process but to put things in perspective that they managed a meagre 293 vote ‘lead’ in the provisional result after:

1. Party symbol was taken away.

2. High Court appeal of one of my MPA candidates (having the same symbol as me) rejected 10 days before Election (even though earlier ECP said it was allowed as per short verbal order and included his name in the final list and allotted symbol).

His covering candidate had the symbol: fork. An opponent’s covering candidate on NA 148 also had the same symbol and ended up getting my 4000+ votes due to the confusion re my MPA candidate’s symbol.

3. Had to travel twice to Islamabad in the last two weeks of campaign for case hearings at Adyala Jail - Judges give adjournments when there are genuine reasons but of course not in IK and SMQ’s cases which they had to decide before Election Day.

4. An abnormally high number of 12,665 votes rejected as per Form 47. Many times more than the number of rejected votes as per Form 45 received by us.

5. The original Form 45 received by me show a lead of around 7000 votes over Yousaf Raza Gillani.

6. I was not allowed to be present at the RO’s office during provisional result consolidation. My Chief Polling Agents were also not allowed.

7. Not to mention the campaign related limitations which were a nationwide issue. #NA148 #InsafKiGhari

If an ex PM having a “huge legacy” is claiming to have won by only 293 votes against a first timer,he should just hide his face in shame. The public has clearly voted - rejecting 12,665 votes and claiming victory by 293 votes will get you nowhere. We demand a RECOUNT ASAP.

Alhamdulillah #InsafKiGhari still leading the vote count in #NA148 Multan after gathering almost all the original Form 45 results. It has been a close contest with Yousaf Raza Gillani with PMLN candidate trailing far behind.

Now waiting for acknowledgment from the RO office and the Election Commission of Pakistan. The result remains pending! 🤷‍♂️🕰️

The Special Court Judge has inadvertently helped Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi by concluding the Cypher trial in such an unlawful and rushed manner because there is a unanimous view that the decision will be set aside almost immediately on appeal because of the many irregularities committed by the Judge especially during the last few days. Allah knows best.

Another victory at the Islamabad High Court regarding the blatantly unlawful proceedings in the Cypher case! Court has ordered the witnesses to be recorded again and the Government has conceded that it will be an Open Trial now!

Supreme Court has effectively dismantled the prosecution’s case in its bail orders today and J Minallah has also made strong observations in his separate note regarding the need for “genuine elections”.

Barrister Salman Safdar has very ably led the defence side’s charge and it’s been a professional privilege to work with him, Sikander Zulqarnain, Syed Ali Bokhari, Usman Gill and Barrister Faiza Asad on the Cypher case and related matters so far.
