JUST IN: 🇺🇸 SEC approves first-ever 3x leveraged Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.
• The SEC approved Cboe BZX to list six new Volatility Shares ETFs, including 3x Bitcoin and Ether ETFs, along with 3x gold, silver, crude oil, and natural gas ETFs.
• This is the first US approval of 3x leveraged $BTC and $ETH exchange-traded products.
• These are based on CME futures contracts, not spot Bitcoin or Ethereum holdings.

"Frame Transactions mean nobody needs ETH" is the same Account Abstraction FUD we've had since 2016.
EIP-8141 means every token on Ethereum becomes a way to purchase ETH while doing the one thing every Ethereum user does: buying blockspace.
The hardest part of onboarding (needing ETH to spend USDC) goes away
This expands Ethereum utility, and every unit of that utility is denominated in ETH. This is 'ETH is Money', and it is strictly bullish.
More Ethereum commerce → higher Ethereum dominance → more ETH bought and burnt
There is a lingering belief that Ethereum is expensive.
That is simply not the case anymore.
Average tx fees are consistently low and reducing, whilst TPS increases!
Ethereum is no longer expensive.
This is a solid demonstration of Railgun's privacy pools mechanism ( https://t.co/dwgc4nlYyp ) working in practice, allowing Railgun to avoid serving proceeds of crime without using any snooping / backdoors.
How it works:
* Anyone can deposit into Railgun.
* After you deposit, there is a 1 hour period during which various algorithms detect whether or not the deposit likely came from what the algorithms consider to be criminal activity.
* If your deposit passes the filter, then after 1 hour you can use ZKPs to withdraw privately (but ideally wait longer to get a good-enough anonymity set).
* If your deposit fails the filter, then you can only withdraw back to your own address. There is no risk that your funds will get frozen/seized, you just can't benefit from the privacy pool.
If you disagree with Railgun's filters, anyone is free to fork and make their own pool with their own rules, though if you can't get reasonably wide public support you're going to have a tiny anonymity set.

- scale the L1
- fix the UX
- add native privacy
- make L1 quantum secure
- harden the L1
- let @BitMNR become the “ETH as an asset” ambassador
- dissolve the EF
- profit
I recently spent some time consulting with the Protocol Group leadership team at EF.
These are smart, passionate people who are excited to be delivering real value with their teams.
When I think about the idea that the EF’s goal should be to eventually dissolve, it doesn’t surprise me to see departures. Who wants to stay in a place with a questionable future?
Dankrad’s proposal below is, in my opinion, absolutely necessary to provide competitive funding and safety for those who are excited to contribute to Ethereum’s goals.
With the right leadership in place - and that is absolutely critical - we cannot have the old guard with their old ideas - I believe an exciting opportunity is upon us.
Ethereum is the only chain that you can profitably be a solo validator.
DVT, Rocketpool, Lido CSM all reduce the 32 ETH barrier to entry. Everyone can contribute to validator distribution and WWIII-proofness.
No tribalism, it's just an awesome fact.
@sassal0x@thedailygwei for every hater there are 10 people who have gained invaluable knowledge on ETH through your curated teachings. And for that we thank you for your service. You can rest now prince 🙏😌
this is what is meant when Ethereum is referred to as "credibly neutral"
meaning zero preference, vested interest, or incentivization to give preferential treatement to any particular actor
neutrality endgame = one chain where all the liquidty, apps, UX, and infra sits
zkSync founder: “Ethereum is the only option” for institutions
“Tempo is a venture by Stripe. Obviously Stripe, as a large payments processor, wants to have their own network . . . And of course, all of [these organizations] will try to get everyone else on their network. But guess what? That’s precisely the reason why it’s never going to happen.”
Alex Gluchowski explains:
“Yes, Stripe wants everything to happen on Tempo, but JP Morgan wants everything to happen on JP Morgan Chain. And Circle wants everything to happen on Arc. And so on and so forth. They will never agree. The large players will never agree to build on the infrastructure of another large player. This is why Ethereum is the only option — it’s the only way forward as the neutral infrastructure that everyone can agree on.”

In defence of The Mandate:
In procurement you select the product that most closely meets your criteria.
CROPs are qualities that procurement officers seem to require as a prerequisite to building financial products on top of it at scale.
Today, the Foundation’s Board released the EF Mandate.
This document, which was first intended for EF members, reaffirms the promise of Ethereum, and the role of EF within this ecosystem.
