@scratchingsand@therandomsec The problem w your argument is Kirk is looking backwards, while you’re crediting Texas for future games. That’s not what Kirk is arguing here.
Texas has a great schedule. But can we maybe see how the season shakes out before we throw around the terms “embarrassing”/“unfair”?
@lcj933@jimmygards lol show your work. Stats wise, advanced metrics - the only one who MIGHT have an argument is Chambliss. The other guys are just toolsy players. Lot more to being a QB than having physical gifts - just ask Arch Manning.
@jimmygards My biggest issue - beyond his use of the term “unfair,” which is ridiculous - is why bring this up now? Maybe wait until the end of the season to see what the full resumes look like?
I’m not a conspiracist but it feels like this is setting the groundwork in case ND drops a game.
@JayySimp@1TimMurray@TomFornelli We are agreed! And I think Bama is legitimately the only team that has a legitimate SOS argument!
My larger point is that Kirk probably looked at ESPN SOS and decided that was the issue, without any depth or analysis. His hysterics are the issue. Average? Fair. Unfair? Come on.
@JayySimp@1TimMurray@TomFornelli So the SOS ratings mechanism that clearly favors SEC team is the better one. Got it.
Look, we can argue about SOS all day. Call ND untested? Fine. Fair criticism, even if not totally supported. It’s his hysterical use of “unfair” and “embarrassing” that’s the issue.
@vrp2003 It’s ridiculous. He’s talking like they’re playing the 110th ranked schedule.
Sagarin has ND at 31. And ND is ahead of several teams mentioned by Kirk here.
Want to say they’ve faced an easy schedule so far? Fair criticism. But “embarrassing” and “UNFAIR”? GTFOH.
@ASportsJones All gonna depend on his speed. Will he be able to get open in the NFL? It’s been MH’s problem since he was drafted.
Not saying he won’t do it. But that’s the biggest - and probably only - ? about him
