One of my favorite things about parenting is figuring out how to explain things.
We let the 3-yo stay up to watch the opening of the USA / Belgium match and I tried to explain what a country is. That the United States of America is our country, and it's a big place where we live. And that our family members live in America too, just farther away.
He then proceeded to name the kinds of places that he knows: the park, a castle, the grocery store, the library, a firetruck.
So close, buddy.
MILK DESTROYED EVERY CLAIM MADE AGAINST IT WHEN I TESTED IT WITH BLOODWORK
5 liters milk per day. 30 days. 4,000 calories from milk alone.
Full blood panel, stool test, and organic acid urine test before and after.
> "Milk is estrogenic" -> Estrogen: unchanged throughout.
>"Milk destroys your gut" -> Calprotectin (gut inflammation): down 90%. Zonulin (leaky gut): down 70%.
>"You need fiber for gut health" -> Zero fiber consumed. Beneficial bacteria increased. Harmful bacteria eliminated without antibiotics.
>"Milk causes weight gain" -> Body composition same or improved on 4,000 calories daily.
>"Milk causes inflammation" -> Every inflammation marker improved.
> "Milk damages your kidneys" -> Urinary phosphate dropped 40%. Kidney filtration markers clean throughout.
> "Milk raises liver enzymes" -> Both dropped under 20.
The experts making these claims have not tested them on themselves.
I did.
@NoahRevoy Never tell your woman why you are doing something. It will drive her crazy and improve your sex life. Just don't do it because you want to improve your sex life.
@DefIntInc@jayparth_ Not to mention limited shelf space and the fact that you may have to inventory it every year for years until it finally expires because no one is taking this new expensive drug
Jack Dorsey put 1.3 million dollars into it.
Vitalik Buterin gave it 128 ETH.
You have never heard of it.
It is called SimpleX. It is a messenger. It does not need a phone number. It does not need an email. It does not need a username. It does not need a user ID.
Not a hidden ID. Not a hashed ID. None at all.
Signal needs your phone number. WhatsApp needs your phone number. Telegram needs your phone number. Every messenger you have ever called "private" knows the one thing your bank, your stalker, and your country use to identify you.
SimpleX knows nothing.
It was built by Evgeny Poberezkin, a London-based engineer. Before this he wrote Ajv, the JavaScript validator that runs in 300 million downloads every month. He could have built anything.
He built the messenger with no users on the server.
Here is the trick.
Every other messenger gives you an identity. SimpleX gives you a connection. Each chat is its own one-way pipe. The server never sees who you are talking to. It does not even know you exist as a user.
11,327 stars. AGPL-3.0. Version 7.0 beta released two days ago.
iOS. Android. macOS. Windows. Linux. Free.
A 4-person team in London is the last line of defense between your conversations and every government, every advertiser, and every database breach.
The most private messenger ever built is the one you have never heard of.

unironically I encourage my 3 year old to do this - he often asks to play with his friend across the street and I tell him he can go knock on the door even when I know the friend isn’t home.
this not only reinforces the seeking of social connection but helps him practice a low-stakes form of rejection and stay unbothered
