@lisavsworld Understandable. My point is, like peanut and some other allergies, it seems like cat allergies have become increasingly common, enough to where I'd just as soon not have that as an impediment, since it seems to be coming up more frequently in our family.
Don’t underestimate the chances of Turkey following Hungary’s example. Erdoğan’s attempt to control his opposition through a puppet is backfiring. The ejected opposition leader is pulling record-breaking crowds.
I think one thing which distinguishes Mormons is their relative unwillingness to affirm some of their doctrinal distinctives in public. Compare a Protestant, Eastern Orthodox, or Roman Catholic's willingness to publicly affirm the Trinity versus how Mormons react when pressed on whether they believe God the Father has always been God.
"Turning a business into an asset, a financial instrument is not interesting to me. I want to make things. I want to build products.
That's what I do, that's what we do. The idea of a business being a financial instrument is anathema to me. It's repellent actually."

@Livng4Jesus One that, like JD Vance, recognizes the legitimacy of other Protestant churches and operates on the Protestant distinction between the visible and invisible church.
Marc Andreessen: We need to drastically increase the number of founders:
"It's shocking to me how few people actually give entrepreneurship a shot. The fate of the world over the next 1,500 years is riding on the people who actually want to give it a shot."

The longer this goes on, the more it seems clear…
The only real crime in the UK is protesting against the (clearly awful) direction the country is headed. 😢

I grew up around a lot of elderly people, including my dad, who was nearly 60 by the time I could remember him (and 60 was closer to 75, back in the 1960s).
It definitely affected the way I see things, and has given me a much longer-range perspective.
Underrated life advice: Spend more time with people older than you. Your 60-year-old neighbor has already made most of the mistakes you're about to make. They'll save you years if you let them.
