Satellites set to launch in 2024 will dramatically increase the international community’s ability to detect atmospheric methane. Still, far more data will be needed to reach international goals to curb emissions. https://t.co/TqVJvwNgwj

.@EPA sets out rules for proposed 'methane fee' for waste generated by oil and natural gas companies. Oil and natural gas companies for the first time would have to pay a fee for methane emissions that exceed certain levels. https://t.co/S1zUg9z4DO

Methane emissions reduction can be very cost-efficient. For instance, in Poland, 21% of methane from underground mines could be mitigated profitably, and a further 44% at low cost.

[Ember @ember_energy]

Poland could cut 414,000 tonnes of #methane annually. This would:
➡️ cost less than one € per kilogram.
➡️ Enhance energy security.
➡️ Lower energy costs.
