@SnowyFramer@jornvandijk@framer The best solution is to never go there. Framer shouldn’t feature anything. It only creates injustice. Without it the free market and the customer can and should decide what is most valuable.
Agreed Framer should stop with the curated sections in which Framer decides what needs to be seen. The market itself decides best what is valuable and what needs to be ranked at the top. Any ranking based on populairity or Framer’s own preference creates an unfair market, less value for customers, and injustice to all other creators. So agreed that wat Framer finds exciting isn’t necessarily what buyers are looking for. You can only fairly rank on pure metrics that come from the market itself like newness and sales I guess. You gotta keep it pure. Any saturated market creates commodity so that can’t be undone unfortunately. Creators gotta accept the fact that sales drop with more supply.
You can’t fix the @Framer marketplace for everyone or certain individuals. And you shouldn’t either. In a crowded market you can’t give everyone the top spot or abunding sales. That’s not how a free market works.
Therefore it’s not strange sales have dropped for many people, including top creators. Sales dropping for top creators can actually be a good sign, since it’s a sign of creating a fairer market for everyone. The intention should never be to try to maintain sales of certain individuals.
You can only fairly rank on recentness and sales in my opinion. Everything else is unfair market modification. In a free market the customer decides what is valuable or not. Not Framer themselves. Therefore Framer should stop interfering with featured sections etc. It creates unfair advantages for the ones who are, and injustice for the rest.
Driving the sales is then up to the creator themselves, in any way he wants. Either by marketing or creating the best product there is. That’s what creates the most value for the market/customer.
Discoverability can be improved by UX such as categories and a good search function.
That should be it.

@jornvandijk@framer Framer should stop curating the marketplace. As good as the intentions are, in free markets the market itself is most suited in determining what is valuable, not Framer employees. A featured section creates unfair advantages for preferred creators and resentment among the rest.

@devmost Everyone with good sales numbers who don’t engage in gaining popularity from Framer got screwed, including customers that valued those templates. Except for the creators that the Framer mods keeps favoring themselves😉 As long as Framer mods keep interfering its not a fair market
@aandreug@eazedesign@pentaclay Good intentions but Framers favoritism actually does the opposite and makes the featured section a popularity contest. The products the market actually valued and wanted to use (sales) were disregarded. Framer should actually stop interfering to reward those who create value.
@eazedesign@aandreug@pentaclay This. Until now Framer keeps showing favoritsm for certain creators. They create great work no doubt. But it would be a fairer marketplace if they stopped pinning the same creators. Just like you say, let the market decide what needs to be ‘feautured’ and who need to be rewarded.

@Tycreated@webflow@framer Well said! And thorough explanation btw. Webflow should take notice. Or hire you haha. It reminded me of some stuff when I was researching investing a while ago.
