We learned that Paris has such a distinct culture from the rest of France that there is a distinct term for those outside Paris ('ploucs')!
It's already Day 3 of the Paris Olympics - we look forward to learning more about this beloved city.

Intelligence, just like beauty, lies in the eye of the beholder.
That is the argument put forth by @Abigail_Desmond and @twig_technology's piece on @aeonmag.
Some really insightful things in here. What an invigorating read! ๐
Our favourite insights were:
- 'Intelligence is important to us, and so we seek it in others'

Needless to say we loved it. Our favourite insight was Hannah Arendt's concept of the will, and the importance of choice and responsibility in shaping one's identity.

With our 'Causal Explanation Map', we learned further details of each thinker's key ideas (again, these are distilled).
Some things clicked. We returned to the piece and re-devoured it in full. This time, we were better able to appreciate the philosophical nuances explicated in the writing.
Many thanks to @Samantharhill for the beautiful piece and for teaching us something new!
