@BeanJuiceStudio 'Made with AI assistance' isn't the concerning part of the review. To me, it's the claim that the game 'devolves' into AI slop over time. The former shouldn't matter to Players. The latter absolutely should.
@maseylia Some constructive feedback - your camera rig feels off. Right now, it is following very rigidly, thus giving it a kind of "Go-Pro" effect. This is because it's anchored to the character rig. It will feel more natural if you smoothen that motion with some acceleration and easing.
@politicalmath How old are your kids? There are dedicated music devices for this sort of thing. I sympathize though. Lotsbof brainrot out there and it's getting harder to unplug.
In most ways AI horrifies me in how it will be poorly used to try to generate games. For many years things will get worse before they get better on many projects.
BUT! This is exactly the sort of stuff that has me excited.
We're going to see a renaissance of well crafted adventure games, and entirely new inventions of story and character interaction with AI.
We'll have interesting characters and settings and scenarios with means of interacting and progressing the play and story in ways we've never seen before, and the absolute best versions of these games will be the ones that expertly marry well crafted human writing and story and world building with artful utilization of AI.
We're going to have to find new ways of creating the frameworks and dialogues such that it won't break the mechanics, and will allow the necessary advancements to occur without it feeling too open ended or prone to breaking.
Whatever happens, for the first time in a long time we're finally going to be some innovation and advancements growing by leaps and bounds in realms of gaming no one even thought could be pushed.
It's the studios expecting the AI to do their level design, their art, etc. who will continue to fall behind.
It will be the studios that find new areas to create entirely new levels of polish and expiration and nuance who will fair best in the coming decade.
@elonmusk It depends. If the judge is ruling on the side of the Law, they are not an 'activist'. It's simply rule of Law. If you don't like it, change the Law.
It's easy to make fun of Nick.. but if you think he is completely wrong, you might not be seeing the bigger picture.
Nodes is just a step on the ladder towards something better. Nodes are great, sure.. but compared to a great musician playing the violin, a skilled painter with a canvas, brush and a palette, a storyteller that draws in their audience with the first few words they speak.. it's pretty clear that there's more natural ways for us to express our creativity.
Made this video a year ago.. so much has happened since and things are not slowing down.
@thomasmahler This is too vague to be useful... and ChatGPT seems to be telling you what you want to hear, not providing genuine information.
Veritasium did a video on what it means to be an Expert. I highly suggest you check that out as a foray into the topic from a science standpoint.
