Official indicators are insufficient to reveal the scale of the crisis. The Oxfam report Unseen Hunger (2026) shows that invisible hunger remains ignored. In Africa, 23.7 million children under 5 suffer from acute malnutrition. FAO notes that nearly 50% of African children do not receive a diversified diet. These figures are not abstract: they represent broken lives and compromised generations. Policies must rely on this evidence to build inclusive and resilient food systems.
