Esteemed Colleagues,
I am running for one reason:
To build a digitally driven, transparent, and highly efficient Secretariat that is accessible to every lawyer.
The Secretariat is the engine room of the NBA.
When it works, the entire Association works.
When it fails, every member feels it.
That is why my mission is simple : To improve service delivery through practical systems, efficient processes, and effective communication, while ensuring every member is respected, supported, and valued.
How will we do this?
Through my 5-Point Action Plan:
ONE: A Digital-First Secretariat.
No more long queues. No more “come back next week.”
We will launch a 24/7 Members’ Portal where you can access receipts, certificates, letters of good standing, referrals, branch transfers, and track your stamp and seal application in real-time.
Less waiting. Better service.
TWO: Transparent Communication.
You deserve to know.
We will publish clear service timelines, give weekly updates, and run responsive support through email, toll-free lines, telephone, and a WhatsApp Helpdesk.
Every member deserves timely information and prompt responses.
THREE: Member-Centric Service.
The Secretariat must be built on professionalism, courtesy, efficiency, and respect.
Every lawyer, whether SAN or young wig, will be treated with dignity.
FOUR: Record Integrity & Accountability.
We will fully digitize and securely archive our records.
Every request will be tracked from submission to resolution within defined timelines.
Accountability will be the standard.
FIVE: An Open-Door Secretariat.
My office will be open.
I will run regular engagement and feedback sessions across all 141 NBA Branches to ensure every member has a voice.
No branch will be left behind.
Colleagues, I am not seeking this office for the title.
I am seeking it to serve.
With accessibility, accountability, innovation, and a commitment to results,
I will lead a Secretariat that truly works for every member, every time.
On 18th July 2026, let us make the right choice

I PROUDLY STAND WITH AFAM OKEKE, ESQ. FOR GENERAL SECRETARY, NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION (2026–2028)
I first met Mr. Afam O. Okeke as a young Corper in Abuja, uncertain and without much guidance. He took me under his wing and encouraged me to bring other Corps members to NBA branch meetings. Through him, many of us had the opportunity to interact with senior lawyers, learn from them, and begin building meaningful professional relationships.
There were many occasions when young lawyers simply could not afford the resources needed to access certain opportunities or be in certain rooms. Afam always found a way to ensure they were not left behind.
He believed in me long before many others did. He invested in my growth, even paying for courses that have contributed to my professional development. That is why I believe he deserves the platform to do even more for even more young lawyers.
Afam is genuinely passionate about the growth and development of young lawyers. He understands our struggles because he listens. He sees people as individuals, not just numbers in a crowd.
The NBA needs a General Secretary who is accessible, humble, and willing to meet people where they are. Someone who listens, understands, and serves with empathy.
Afam has consistently demonstrated these qualities. He leads by serving others, and I have experienced that firsthand.
That is the kind of leadership our Association needs.
Vote Afam O. Okeke, Esq. for General Secretary, Nigerian Bar Association (2026–2028).
