Thank you @SenRandPaul for taking the time to connect with Frankfort and Floyd County leaders today as part of @floodcoalition’s #FloodSummitDC.
Great discussion on common sense FEMA reform and smarter approaches go protect Kentuckians from flooding.
Inspiring week last week as @floodcoalition hosted our Local Elected Leaders Summit in Washington DC.
Over 60 local leaders from different states and different parties committed to improving how our nation prepares for and responds to flooding disasters.
Northeastern Pennsylvania knows firsthand what flooding can do to a community, and now they have a champion fighting back.
We're proud to welcome @RepBresnahan as an AFC #FederalChampion!

Five years ago, Florida made history with the passage of its landmark 'Always Ready' flood resilience legislation, signed into law by @GovRonDeSantis in May 2021, and this week, we celebrated that milestone where it matters most: in the field.
AFC FL Director Kate Wesner is touring Resilient Florida project sites, seeing firsthand how this legislation is protecting people, infrastructure & the economy.
With 120+ projects & $1.5B+ in need, there's more to do — but Florida is leading the way.

Fulfilling couple days at the #ncga last week as @afcaction joined leaders from the Town of Marshall, one of the smaller and most #Helene impacted communities.
As we supported the direct needs for Marshall we related those needs to the larger western #NorthCarina priorities....
While the Mayor of Marshall & @afcaction met with 13 #ncga members we thanked each of them for supporting our $20m flood mitigation grant proposal for #Helene impacted counties.
Those $20m grants received 105 apps for over $80m and will help improve public safety in the region
Big #FarmBill news!
Thanks to @floodcoalition Federal Champion @RepJoeNeguse, the MATCH Act was included in the House-passed bill this week!
This bipartisan effort would help communities kickstart watershed rehabilitation work faster after disasters.

We have to take a moment to celebrate Alabama for taking a major step forward on resilience last week 🎉
The Alabama Legislature passed SB137, which now awaits @GovernorKayIvey's signature. SB137 will create a:
1. Permanent Resilience Council,
2. Chief Resilience Officer,
3. Statewide resilience strategy
4. Office of Risk and Resilience
5. Dedicated fund to support Council and CRO initiatives
This is a major step towards building long-term flood resilience that will protect people, communities, and infrastructure in Alabama.
Congratulations to Rep @Brownforalabama, @SenLivingstonAL, and the entire AL Legislature!

🚨Big news out of Maryland Monday night.
Maryland passed HB 200 flood-risk disclosure legislation for homebuyers. HB 200 requires sellers to disclose a property's flood history, FEMA status, insurance claims, and past damage before a contract is signed. It’s now awaiting Governor @iamwesmoore's signature.
Buyers deserve to know a home’s flood risk upfront. Full stop.
Well done, to the entire Maryland General Assembly 👏

Yesterday WNC Partnership leaders met with @SecMullinDHS and senior @fema officials on the region's recovery progress and resilience-building efforts across North Carolina.
We're proud to see this important work getting the attention it deserves 👏

The BRIC program is a vital, cost-effective tool that helps communities prepare for and withstand natural disasters. These funds were critical to Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene, which is why I introduced the Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) Act to reinstate and reform the program.
After pushing for its return, I’m excited to see this funding will soon be restored—ensuring our communities have the resources they need to rebuild.
The FEMA Act prioritizes speed and flexibility in disaster response, delivering recovery funding more quickly and giving state and local governments the tools to meet urgent needs.
We’re working with @RepChuckEdwards and 48 other Members to urge leadership to bring this legislation to the floor.

@RepJasonCrow@RepYoungKim@RepGabeVasquez@RepCarolMiller This bipartisan bill reflects the needs and experiences of state leaders working on complex resilience challenges.
It aims to strengthen existing state resilience entities while encouraging more states to take on this critical work.
Big news! The Senate passed the Disaster Assistance Simplification Act.
This bill would help disaster survivors recover faster by setting up a universal application portal to apply for assistance programs across relevant federal agencies.

Applying for aid after a disaster is a complex and exhausting process. A universal application would help reduce the burden on disaster survivors by making the process simpler, faster, and more accessible.

Exciting Senate action and further momentum to get comprehensive @fema reform across the finish line!
Thank you @SenAshleyMoody & @Sen_Alsobrooks for leading on this.
