VIDEO | Delhi: On the split in the TMC, party MP Shatrughan Sinha said, “First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the people of Asansol and West Bengal for giving me immense love, respect and support, and for ensuring my victory time and again. I first came to Asansol at Didi (Mamata Banerjee’s) invitation and on her instructions. In my very first election there, I secured a record-margin victory in what was the country’s first by-election at the time. Later, I also won a second time with a significant margin. Therefore, I would especially like to thank Mamata ji, the Trinamool Congress, and above all, the people of Asansol and West Bengal. I want to make it clear that I have always worked for everyone in Bengal, regardless of which party they belong to or whether they voted for me or not. I understand my responsibilities and will continue to fulfil them."
He adds, "When I was going through a difficult phase after losing the Patna election in 2019, very few people stood by me. Mamata Banerjee was among the few who supported and encouraged me. She believed I should continue in public life without any gap in my parliamentary journey, and it was on her direction that I contested from Asansol. By God’s grace, and with the support of Mamata ji and the people of Asansol, I achieved victory. For the past few days, there has been a lot of speculation about me. Some people are speaking the truth, while others are spreading rumours. Some have claimed that I have joined the so-called rebel group. Yes, by nature I have always been outspoken. I often say that if speaking the truth is considered rebellion, then I am also a rebel. I have always spoken frankly and called a spade a spade. But I want to state clearly that Mamata ji stood by me during my difficult times, and today, in her difficult phase, I cannot abandon her. I was elected on the Trinamool Congress symbol - the ‘Jora Phool’ - not once but twice, with the blessings of God. Therefore, it is my duty and responsibility to stand with Mamata ji and the Trinamool Congress...my principle is very clear: when Mamata ji stood by me in my difficult times, it is now my duty to stand by her in this moment as well.”

RAJDEEP: CBSE says TCS quoted around ₹951 crore, Coempt Edutech around ₹384 crore. Lowest bidder wins, so rules were followed.
SARTHAK 🎯: My question is not whether CBSE followed the rules. My question is why CBSE changed the rules.
RAJDEEP: People say you are batting for the opposition.
SARTHAK 🔥: In a democracy, opposition parties are pressure groups. If someone supports me, I am thankful. If someone ignores me, I do not care.

The attack on Abhishek Banerjee, a Member of Parliament, is a signal to the world of how democracy has virtually been ended in our country.
Law and order is either not purposefully in control, or is beyond control.
If the safety of MPs cannot be assured, what is the world going to look at this as? Investors? Tourists?
Such a shameful point in our once democratic system
There is a memory I carry with me from my years as a civil servant. It has never left me....
Back then, I had just been transferred as Collector to Mangalore, a city then shadowed by communal violence and a menacing sand mafia. Before I left, word came that the Chief Minister wished to see me personally. It was unusual. Collectors don't typically get called in. I walked into his chamber with a knot in my stomach.
He looked at me, that familiar, unreadable face. Steady. Unhurried.
"Banri…" he said. (Come in.)
"Nimage ondhe kelasa… alli ennum communal aaga baradhu."
(You have only one job there. No communal incident should happen.)
That was it. No preamble. No politics. No performance. Just a Chief Minister, alone with a young IAS officer, telling him exactly what mattered. In that single sentence lived an entire philosophy of governance. one rooted not in optics, but in the protection of ordinary people from extraordinary hatred.
Fifteen days later, Mangalore erupted. Two communal murders, two communities, one city on edge. He called me again. Just as directly.
"DC... Do what is required. Take anyone into custody, even our party people. Don't bother. But stop this within a day."
To a young collector, those words were everything. They were permission. They were protection. They were political will at its most honest.
I have known the contrast too. Under a different dispensation, in a similar crisis, the instruction from the top was the opposite. Do nothing strongly. Let things fester. …That silence said everything about who governs for whom.
Siddaramaiah Ji was never that kind of leader.
He carried government finances in his fingertips and social justice in his spine. He refused to tour places that reeked of feudalism. He spoke plainly, governed sharply, and stood on the side of the last person in the room.
If there was one political figure I have genuinely admired, from the stage and up close, it has been him. His legacy is not in the schemes he launched or the budgets he read. It is in the kind of Chief Minister he chose to be when no one was watching. . On that quiet phone call. In the way he asked a nervous young officer to go out and keep the peace.
And now, as he steps back with the same quiet dignity with which he always led, I find myself moved. He has handled this transition with the grace of someone who always knew that principles outlast positions.
Siddaramaiah Ji....long life, good health, and please keep guiding us. The Congress, and this country, still needs the kind of moral clarity only you carry so naturally.

Shamim Akhter, a professor at Aliah University #Kolkata, did everything the system asked of him. Born and listed in the 2003 Bihar voter rolls. His parents are there in 2003 list and also in 2025 Bihar list.
He moved to Kolkata in 2016. Updated his voter ID. Voted in 2019, 2021, 2024.
And then he was gone.
Post SIR, his name has been deleted from the #Bengal voter list. No warning. No clear reason. Just DELETED.
But this is not just about one name.
Inside his home, met his wife, bedridden - dependent on an oxygen cylinder for every breath. A family already battling survival is now forced to confront something far more invisible - uncertainty.
Akhter broke down, not over politics, but over fear. Fear of systems turning him unrecognisable. Fear of being questioned. Fear of not being seen. “What if I lose my job because i lost my right to vote - how will I take of my wife’s medical expenses” he asked.
And then, the blow that makes it harder to ignore - his son, an MBBS student with a birth certificate, has also been deleted.
Three lives. One silent fear. The wife is still on the voter list. She is the one who can barely move. And yet, she now says she will go and vote. Under any circumstances.
Because her husband and son have been erased, thus she is preparing to show up - not just to vote, but to register their pain before a system that has Deleted their peace
A voter ID is not just a document - it is the most basic acknowledgment: you belong. When that disappears, what replaces it is not just inconvenience - it is doubt. #BengalElection2026
She is the clear winner this election season! Has come up as the best campaigner for her party by quite a margin!
@sayani06 all the best!! ✨ https://t.co/S0U4qRYz0F
I left for bombay at 6.30 am like the hard working professional that I am & stopped the car at 7 am to make this reel as I’ve long realised that silence is not a virtue & one must speak up when they are disrespected. Yes if wrong things happen at any workplace that are against basic human rights, me & all of us should speak up. I don’t care about the personal trolling, I’m used to it last 5 years since shark tank but the purpose of this reel is to request all the proud Indians in this country to start speaking up when they see something wrong, out of humanity, out of patriotism. Jai hind. Now off to another joyful & complex day at work !
Peerzada Khobayeb Amin, who stepped down as State President of AJUP & Treasurer of Babri Masjid Trust, makes serious claims - he personally saw @BJP4Bengal leader @SuvenduWB speaking to Humayun Kabir over the phone. He also raises questions about the funding behind choppers & party activities, alleging that the emotions of the Bengali Muslim qaum are being played with.
VIDEO | Puri, Odisha: Ramkrishna Das Mohapatra, Servitor and Secretary of Jagannath Temple, says, "Mamata Banerjee works for the people throughout the year. She works all 365 days for the welfare of the people, which is why she has the blessings of the Lord. She takes everyone along, respecting all religions, and that is why she is a good Chief Minister. During elections, everyone seeks votes, but she works for the common people all year round. People will think about her work for them."
